Resorts World Birmingham Casino Finally Opens Its Doors

The long awaited and highly anticipated Resorts World Birmingham casino, a business venture from Malaysian giant Genting Group, finally opened its doors on Monday.

In big UK gambling news, Resorts World Birmingham casino opened its doors Monday, October 26. The casino’s opening date was chosen so that it would coincide with the release of the new James Bond movie, Spectre, Resorts World Birmingham will be celebrating the film’s release by playing Spectre on all 11 Imax screens all week at the Genting International Casino.

Resorts World Birmingham opened a few days prior to its casino, on October 21. The cruise ship-shaped leisureand gambling complex is a GBP 150 M project from Genting UK, which is a branch of Malaysian multinational giant Genting Group. It houses 18bars and restaurants, 50 outlet shops, a luxury hotel, a spa, an Imax cinema, and the Genting International Casino.


The project has long been supported by local politicians and businessmen, who believe that Resorts World will bring in millions of pounds in revenue and give a boost the West Midlands’economy. It has already provided the area with an impressive number of employment opportunities: 1,750 jobs during construction and 1,100 hospitality and leisure jobs upon completion.

Resorts World Birmingham casino boasts impressive features

The Resorts World Birmingham casino possesses a number of exciting high-profile features, and is described by Genting UK as having a “truly impressive gaming floor”.It includes: 31 tables for games like American roulette and blackjack, in which players can bet up to GBP 1,000.00 at a time, 150 slots machines, UK poker rooms and live feeds of a roulette wheel on which visitors can place bets remotely. In addition, it has an outdoor gaming area to accommodate clients that smoke.
