  • 2021 Open Quimper Bretagne is held this week, 25-31 January
  • It is part of the ATP Challenger Tour
  • Former world No10 Lucas Pouille is the top favorite ahead of US player Korda

The 2021 Quimper Open Challenger is taking place this week in France, between the 25th and 31st of January. This year a very strong field will be present including former world No10 Lucas Pouille. He is the top favorite in the Quimper Challenger winner odds but other great players can also win the ATP Challenger Tour event.

The 2021 Open Quimper Bretagne is part of this season’s 2021 ATP Challenger Tour, which is the secondary tennis circuit. The French event will be only the second tournament in the calendar which has 15 tournaments scheduled for the season. The best players who earn enough points in the Challenger Tour can also qualify for the draws of ATP Tour events. So a victory in these tournaments can be a big push for lower ranked players. The Open in Quimper has been held since 2011, we can find mostly French players in its previous winners. Last year though a Turkish player, Cem Ilkel won the tournament which was his first and only victory so far. He won’t take part in this year’s event, where a local player is the top favorite again.

Quimper Challenger winner odds predict Pouille’s victory

Online sportsbooks in France offer the smallest odds, 5.00 for the victory of French player Lucas Pouille. The former world No10 returns back from his elbow surgery on home soil and hopes for a great result. He has five ATP Tour wins so far while he was also a member of the 2017 Davis Cup winner French team. The 2019 Australian Open semi-finalist had to miss the whole last season due to recovery from his injury and dropped to 74th place in the world ranking. Now Pouille can start his way back to the top, he will play first against Slovakian Filip Horanszky on Tuesday.

One of his biggest rivals can be the young US player, Sebastian Korda who has the odds of 6.90 in the Quimper Challenger winner odds. The second seed of the tournament is currently 103rd in the world ranking. But he has plenty of time to move up. The 20-year-old player won the junior title in the 2018 Australian Open and won his first Challenger title last November in Germany. Korda is the son of former 1998 Australian Open winner Petr Korda. He is in great form after reaching his first ATP Tour final in Delray Beach Open this month. With a similar performance here he can go all the way along and move into the top 100.

He is currently in 163rd place in the world ranking. Kudla is ahead of him in 116th place and has the odds of 10.00 to win his 8th ATP Challenger title. The 28-year-old American also seems to be in good form after winning his last title in Cary in November, 2020.

While online gambling sites in France also mention the 2019 Quimper Challenger winner, Gregoire Barrere with a chance to win again. His career high ranking was a No80, at the moment he is world No111. The French player has won three ATP Challenger titles so far beside six ITF Futures victories. Now he will start against another French player, Hugo Gaston with the odds of 1.68 to win the tie. While he has the odds of 14.50 to win the title for the second time.
