  • Van Gerwen leads the top-3 of the 2019 Darts Champions League favorites
  • Cross and Wright are underdogs which can unexpectedly bite
Michael Van Gerwen leads the best odds according to the 2019 Darts Champions League predictions. The world’s number one darts player has all chances to steal the show at the upcoming championship. His closest contestants from the UK lag in the odds but still can hit the CL. This year’s Darts Champions League has three favorites. Rob Cross and Peter Wright can run for the first place besides Van Gerwen. Whether they manage to overcome the Dutch legend or not, will be clear on October 19 and 20.

2019 Darts Champions League predictions show Mighty Mike as the favorite

Michael Van Gerwen is heading for his first-ever victory in the Champions League of Darts. According to online sportsbooks in the UK, this year his chance to hold the title is 2.37 (click here to bet at bet365). This is twice better than his closest rivals have, so Mighty Mike is the obvious tournament’s favorite.

Van Gerwen holds the title as the world’s best player, which he defended for the third time. He has won the 2019 PDC World Darts Championship three times - in 2014, 2016 and 2019. Besides regaining the world championship, Michael holds a record as the first player to win 30 European Tour titles. He also broke the world record as most ProTour titleholder with 71 victories in the PDC Players Championship. Despite all his achievements, Van Gerwen had never won the Champions League of Darts. He participated in the tournament in 2016 but finished as a runner-up after Phil Taylor. This was the only time when Mike achieved the final. The player said that his current goal is to win every championship he participated, including the CL.

The UK contestants are runners-up as to 2019 Darts Champions League predictions

Robert Cross from England and the Scottish eccentric Peter Wright close the top-3 candidates for the first place. Following online sportsbook news in the UK, both darts players have good chances to take the CL but are still far from the favorite.

Rob Cross was the world’s best player in 2018 after he managed to outplay darts legend, Phil Taylor. After this impressive debut at the World Championship, he became one of the most promising players. He is currently ranked No 2 on the PDC world rankings after Michael Van Gerwen. Cross’s chance to overcome his superior is equal to 5.50 on bet365 Sportsbook. As to Peter Wright, his chance to outplay Cross and especially Van Gerwen is fewer - 6.50. However, Scottish Snakebite is still likely to break his runner-up curse... and give another eccentric performance on the upcoming darts tournament.
