They have the record, squad and top Women’s Water Polo World Championships betting odds to be 3rd consecutive champions. However, Spain could be the women’s team to upset the 2019 tournaments front runners.

The 2019 FINA Women’s Water Polo World Championships event will run from 14-26 in Gwangju, South Korea. You can also read about the Men’s Water Polo World Championships event for more betting opportunities.

USA with favorable Women’s Water Polo World Championships Betting Odds to continue global reign

The US women’s national water polo are currently the most successful nation at the World Championships with 5 gold medals. Fortunately, with Bet365 Sportsbook betting odds at 1.20, they can extend their dominance to 6 World Championships title wins. They also have an impressive record in other major competitions to back up their Women’s Water Polo World Championships Betting Odds.

In the past 3 years, they’ve been gold medalists at the:

  • 2016 Summer Olympics
  • 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 World League
  • 2017 World Championships
  • 2018 World Cup

Additionally, the USA also have a strong squad to help them extend their dominance on the world stage. This includes top tournament performers in 2017 and 2018 Ashleigh Johnson, Maddie Musselman and Rachel Fattal.

2017 World Championships runners up Spain to upgrade to 2019 gold medalists

Spain currently trail behind the US with the 2nd best Women’s Water Polo World Championships Betting Odds to be 2019 champions. Their odds of winning are 11.00 on Bet365 Sportsbook, one of the online sportsbooks in South Korea. This means that they could win their 2nd World Championships title adding to their 2013 win.

They came close to being crowned the 2017 World Championships winners. However, Spain’s women were crushed 13-6 by US women’s national team in the 2017 final in Budapest. This time around, they’ll be hoping to upset the US, the current Bet365 Sportsbook frontrunners.

Greece looks to be among the 2019 Women’s World Championships medalists

After claiming gold at the 2011 Women’s Water Polo World Championships, Greece’s performance in the following tournaments fell. In the 2013 and 2016 tournament, they finished 6th. Then at the 2017 Water Polo World Championships Women tournament, Greece dropped to a disappointing 7th place.

They stand a considerable chance to be 2019 gold medalists with Women’s Water Polo World Championships Betting Odds at 16.00. 2018 was a busy year for Greece’s women as they were LEN Europa Cup and Europa Cup champions.

The Bet365 Sportsbook hopefuls were 2018 Mediterranean Games bronze medalists and European Championships silver medalists. However, with tough competition with the likes of Spain and the US, a top 4 finish would be a realistic target.

Hungary Women aim for a 2019 World Championships top 4 finish

Unlike the Hungarian men’s national water polo team, the women’s side haven’t achieved the same success in international competitions. Hungary women (20.00) were last gold medalists in 1994 and 2005. However, with their Bet365 Sportsbook Women’s Water Polo World Championships Betting Odds, it’s unlikely they’ll be among the 2019 medalists. They finished the 2017 World Championships tournament in 5th, so an improvement is expected.

Fortunately, having been placed in Group B against hosts South Korea, Russia and Canada, they can advance to the playoffs. One player to keep on will be the 2018 Hungarian Water Polo Player of the Year Rita Keszthelyi. She’s was among the top goalscorers in recent tournaments such as the 2019 World League and 2018 European Water Polo Championship.

2019 World Championships Playoffs qualification will be a major improvement for South Africa’s women

All eyes will be on the South African women’s team to win gold for Africa. However, according to the online sportsbook news in South Africa, they have the worst Bet365 Sportsbook odds of doing so. Unfortunately, with Women’s Water Polo World Championships Betting Odds at 2001.00, gold is well beyond their reach.

They also don’t have the best record at the World Championships after their 2009 debut. Their best finishes in the tournament were a 15th place finish in 2011 and 2015. Additionally, they will also play in a difficult group against front runners the USA, as well as New Zealand and the Netherlands.

Fortunately, New Zealand women are also in a similar situation. This means South African could potentially book the last playoffs spot in Group A.
