This year’s Cannes Film Festival will open with the top favorite of online sportsbooks in France, which has the odds of 3.74 to win the Palme d’Or. Leos Carax’s musical called Annette. It tells the story of a comedian and his world famous soprano wife, who had a glamorous life. Until the arrival of their daughter, Annette, who is born with a special gift. The film stars Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard as the lead characters and is promised to be great entertainment. With a matching music by Ron and Russell Mael of pop duo Sparks.

A very different film is also mentioned in the top favorites in the 2021 Golden Palm winner odds. The latest film of Hungarian woman director Ildiko Enyedi. Who won the Golden Bear in the 2017 Berlin Film Festival with On Body and Soul. Now her new work, The Story of My Wife is in the competition with the odds of 6.00 to get the award.  The film is the adaptation of the same-titled novel by Hungarian writer Milan Fust. The romantic drama is about a sea captain who marries the first woman who enters a cafe following a bet. Their marriage will be full of emotions from jealousy to deep love. The international cast stars Lea Seydoux and Gijs Naber in the main roles.

Tilda Swinton plays a Scottish woman who travels to Columbia where she starts to notice strange sounds. It is the English-language debut of the 2010 winner who has the odds of 8.50 to win again. Neither is Paul Verhoeven’s drama, Benedeatta, which is about a 17th century nun who fell in love with another woman. Both have the odds of 19.00 to win this year’s Palme d’Or. While Wes Anderson’s star-studded film, The French Dispatch has much better chances. The American comedy-drama tells different stories about a French bureau of a fictional Kansas newspaper. Its cast is really amazing with Benicio del Toro, Tilda Swinton, Frances McDormand and Bill Murray. The film has the odds of 11.00 on 22Bet to get the Golden Palm.
