2021 IndyCar Alabama GP Predictions Favor Two-time Champion Newgarden

This weekend another American car racing series will begin, the famous open wheel racing of IndyCar. The first race of the season is held in Alabama at the Barber Motorsports Park on the 17th of April. Scott Dixon is the defending champion and one of the top favorites according to the 2021 IndyCar Alabama GP predictions. Let’s see who else can get the victory in the first race.  This will be the 26th season of the IndyCar Series which is also the 110th US National Championship. The sport might not be as famous as Formula 1, but motorsports fans are surely excited about the opening of the new season. Which will start this time in Alabama, at the Barber Motorsports Park, on a 17-turn 2.38-mile road course. The race returns back to this track after 2019 due to the cancellation of last year’s event. Japanese Takuma Sato won the race then and will return as a defending champion. But we can find other former winners of this track in the starting list. Like three-time winner Josef Newgarden or his  teammate, Will Power who also won twice here. Along with the super trio of this season’s rookies, Romain Grosjean, Scott McLaughlin and Jimmie Johnson.

Team Penske drivers are in the top favorites in the 2021 IndyCar Alabama GP predictions

As we mentioned Josef Newgarden has already won in Alabama three times, in 2015, 2017 and 2018. In the last race here he finished fourth. He is still the top favorite of online sportsbooks in the US to get his fourth victory. The Team Penske driver is a two-time IndyCar champion who was also fighting for the title last season. But he ended up as a runner-up behind Scott Dixon in spite of winning four races. Now Newgarden will try to get the trophy for himself and his team, which has three other very fast drivers.

One of them is Will Power who also got two victories at the track from 2011 and 2012. The Australian driver hasn’t got such great results since, but he is still very fast and can easily win this race. The 2014 series champion finished 5th last season in the championship but he will aim for a better result this time. Just like his teammate, Simon Pagenaud, who was 8th in the overall standing. As the 2016 IndyCar champion the French driver couldn’t be satisfied with his previous season, but he can improve on his results now. Scott Dixon won his sixth IndyCar championship title last season making him the third most successful driver in the sport’s history. He has been performing well in this track too and finished 8 times on the podium. But he has never actually won the race here yet.
