This year’s Valspar Championship is held this week, between the 29 April - 2 May at the Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club in Palm Harbor, Florida. The tournament returns back after a year break with the defending champion, Paul Casey also competing. But the 2021 Valspar Championship predictions favor world No1 Dustin Johnson and No2 Justin Thomas to win this time.
The Valspar Championship was founded in 2000 in Tampa, Florida. Since then it has become one of the most popular events of the PGA Tour. The 7,340-yard, par-71 course is a very technical one, especially the three holes called the Snake Pit. 156 players will compete this year again for their share of the $6,9 million including the defending champion, Paul Casey. The English golfer managed to win back-to-back titles in 2018 and 2019 and will go for a record third title. But he won’t have an easy job in a strong field of top ranked players. Like the world ranking leader Dustin Johnson and second-ranked Justin Thomas.
2021 Valspar Championship predictions favor DJ and Thomas for the win
Dustin Johnson finished T6 in the 2019 tournament which was his best result here. Now online sportsbooks in the US expect an even better result from him. They offer the odds of +1000 for his win. The world No1 hasn’t won any tournament since his victory in the 2020 Masters, and hasn’t finished in the top 10 either in his last five events. But he is among the best tee to green who can finish ahead of everyone with a great performance.
Just like his big rival, Justin Thomas who has the same odds to win here in the 2021 Valspar Championship predictions. The 2021 Players champion has similar results from his previous appearances here with a T10 and T18 finishes. Thomas only finished T21 at the Masters two weeks ago in spite of his great start of the tournament. Bad weather forced the organizers to delay the event. After that he couldn’t return to his previous form. Hopefully he won’t face similar problems in sunny Florida this weekend.

Corey Conners and Patrick Reed in other top favorites
Even though Corey Conners has only one PGA Tour victory so far, he is mentioned in the top favorites with the odds of +1800. One of the reasons is his current form. As the Canadian player finished 3rd in the Arnold Invitational and 7th in The Players last month. While he also got a T8 finish in the Masters and T4 in the RBC Heritage two weeks ago. Conners was also close to winning this event back in 2018, when he held the 54-hole lead. But he messed up his fourth round shot and finished T16 at the end.
Online gambling sites in the US also mention world No7 Patrick Reed with a great chance to win the event. He finished here twice as a runner-up, in 2015 and 2018. Now his odds to win here is +2000 on BetOnline. But the winner of the 2021 Farmers Insurance Open will need to improve on his latest form to achieve the victory. Meanwhile two-time winner Paul Casey is having his strongest season so far after winning the Dubai Desert Classic and finishing T5 at the Players. The English player is aiming for a record third win in Tampa with the odds of +2200 to do so.
