  • 2022 ATP Mallorca Championship is held this week, 20-26 June
  • It is the second edition of the ATP 250 tournament
  • Daniil Medvedev is the defending champion and the top favorite again
Some players chose to play in Eastbourne, while Nadal and Djokovic are taking part in an exhibition event this week. The world No1, Daniil Medvedev will compete in Mallorca at an ATP250 tournament and try to defend his title. The 2022 ATP Mallorca winner odds favor him for the victory along with Nick Kyrgios and Stefanos Tsitsipas who will also take part in the event.  The first edition of the men’s event at the Mallorca Championship was held last year with Daniil Medvedev winning its first trophy. The new ATP 250 tournament joined a WTA open, which has been held on the Spanish island since 2014. Just one week ahead of the Wimbledon Championship, the tournament offers one of the last opportunities to play. Following Wimbledon organizers’ decision to ban all Russian and Belarusian players from competing, Medvedev can use this event to finally win his first title of the season. But it won’t be an easy task in this year’s field including Stefanos Tsitsipas, Denis Shapovalov, and Roberto Bautista Agut. Along with special exempt Nick Kyrgios who has been in great form lately.

2022 ATP Mallorca Winner Odds Favor Medvedev and Kyrgios

Daniil Medvedev was close to winning his first trophy of the season last weekend in Halle. But he lost against Polish Hubert Hurkacz in two straight sets. The Russian world No1 lost his temper during the match and was shouting at his coach which wasn’t nice behavior. He was close to winning three times this year, in the Australian Open where he lost against Nadal. And more recently in Rosmalen and in Halle where he was the favorite of the finals. Now Medvedev needs to compose himself again in order to defend his title in Mallorca.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jULQZp74uQY Still, online sportsbooks in Spain also offer the smallest odds, 3.45 for his win in Mallorca. First, though he needs to get there which can mean a quarter-final against the next big favorite, Nick Kyrgios. At least according to the 2022 ATP Mallorca winner odds which offer the odds of 4.68. for the Australian player’s win. Even though the grass is not his strongest surface after not winning any tournament on it. But Kyrgios has been playing on a top-level again this season. He reached the semi-finals in his last two tournaments in Stuttgart and in Halle. The world No45 will start against Serbian Laslo Djere and can play against fifth seed Roberto Bautista Agut in the second round.

Tsitsipas, Shapovalov, and Local Players’ Chances

Stefanos Tsitsipas is the second seed in the tournament and has the odds of 7.17 to win it. The Greek world No6 won in Monte-Carlo and was the runner-up in Rome. While he got to the quarter-finals in Stuttgart two weeks ago. Tsitsipas lost against Kyrgios in Halle last week but is on an easier path in Mallorca. His toughest opponent can be Denis Shapovalov in a possible semi-final meeting. The Canadian is the third seed of the event with the odds of 9.21 to get his second ATP Tour title. The 23-year-old won his first one in Stockholm three years ago but he has reached the semi-final in Wimbledon last year.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LV_Xd5LfeY8 Online gambling sites in Spain mention Roberto Bautista Agut as the best Spanish player with an odds of 15.73. Followed by his compatriot, Pablo Carreno Busta who has the odds of 17.59 on 20Bet to win his first grass-court title. He is the fourth seed of the tournament after reaching the semi-final last year. While this season his best result has been a runner-up finish in Barcelona. His path until the semi-final seems easier than Bautista Agut’s who can meet Kyrgios and Medvedev on his route there. Both of them reached the quarter-finals in Halle last week. Now they can get an even better result in front of the home fans.
