The sixth race of the 2022 MotoGP season comes this weekend at the legendary circuit of Jerez. One week after the Portuguese race the 2022 MotoGP season continues in neighboring Spain with the Gran Premio de Espana. The race is back at Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto just outside of the Andalusian city of Jerez.  The circuit hosted its first race in 1987 and has been on the MotoGP calendar ever since. Fans could see some great races in all those years with Valentino Rossi being the most successful rider with six victories. But Marc Marquez has also got three wins so far and will aim for a fourth one this time. Spanish riders got the most wins at the circuit and will be supported by the home crowd again. Especially after last year’s event when there wasn’t any local favorite on the podium.

Quartararo Is the Top Favorite In the 2022 Spanish MotoGP Predictions

Just like last year, Fabio Quartararo will arrive at Jerez as the winner of the previous race in Portugal. With his first win of the season, the French took the lead in the championship but he is level on points with Alex Rins. The defending champion has been very stable in 2022 after finishing in the top 10 in all races. In addition, he has already won in Jerez two years ago and has started from the pole in the last four years. But Quartararo only finished 13th in the 2021 race due to some technical difficulties. He and Yamaha are very strong though at this circuit so no wonder that online sportsbooks in Spain offer the smallest odds, 2.30 for his win.

From the several Spanish riders, the 2022 Spanish MotoGP predictions mention the six-time champion, Marc Marquez, first. Even though he is only in 11th place in the overall standings and hasn’t got any win yet this season. He finished sixth in Portimao after he struggled with his Honda motor, but in Jerez, he might fight for the victory. Marquez has won here three times before. In 2014, 2018, and 2019, he was only 9th last year. But if his team can fix Honda’s issues, he should finish more ahead. His odds to win his first race of the season are 6.00 on 22Bet.

Bastianini, Mir, and Rins in Other Top Favorites

Enea Bastianini had been having a great season until the last race when he crashed out. He fell back to fourth place in the championship, which is still a good result for the Ducati rider. But surely Bastianini wants to get back to the podium and continue his great run. The Italian also had to retire in Jerez last year but has the odds of 10.00 to win now. Online gambling sites in Spain offer the same odds for the victory of another Spanish rider, Joan Mir. The 2020 champion had also been riding well until the previous race where he was involved in an incident with Jack Miller. Both of them had to retire following their crash, which also meant Mir’s fall to sixth place in the overall standings.

He finished fifth in this circuit last year but will try to get a better result this time. Just like his teammate, Alex Rins who crossed the line as the last rider in 2021. But the 26-year-old is having a superb season this year. He stands in second place in the championship with the same points as Quartararo. But the Spanish rider is without a win yet but it can all change on home soil now. He has the odds of 11.00 to get the victory this Sunday. While last year’s winner, Jack Miller will try to recover from the previous race and get some points. The Australian is in 9th place with two podium finishes and two retirements this season. And also with the odds of 11.00 to defend his title in Jerez.
