Rory McIlroy is the defending champion and the biggest favorite in 2022 Wells Fargo Championship winner odds. But we can find several other top players in the field from Tony Finau to Tyrrell Hatton along with other former tournament winners.  This year’s Wells Fargo Championship will be hosted at a new venue, at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm in Maryland. The tournament moved from its previous location, the Quail Hollow in Charlotte, North Carolina as it will host the Presidents Cup this September. But fans and players can both remember the new venue too. As it hosted another PGA Tour event, the Quicken Loans National in the 2017/18 season. The most successful player of the Wells Fargo Championship is Rory McIlroy who won his third trophy last year. He will compete again on the new course along with other former winners of the event like Max Homa and Jason Day. But the last winner at TPC Potomac from 2018, Francesco Molinari will also be in the field.

Rory McIlroy leads the 2022 Wells Fargo Championship winner odds

Rory McIlroy won his last PGA Tour event back in October at the 2021 CJ Cup. But he also finished as a runner-up in this year’s Masters. The world No7 also got some good results in the European Tour. Like a 6T finish in the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai at the end of last year. And a third-place finish at the 2022 Slync.io Dubai Desert Classic in January. McIlroy has won this tournament three times before, though on a different course. Online sportsbooks in the US still mention him as the biggest favorite and offer the odds of +900.00 for his victory.  The next top-ranked player by the 2022 Wells Fargo Championship winner odds is Corey Conners, who got four top-12 finishes in his last six tournaments. The Canadian player only got one PGA Tour win so far. His victory at the 2019 Valero Texas Open, but based on his recent form he can get his second win in Maryland. His outstanding result this season was a six-place finish at the 2022 Masters. But the world No31 also finished third in the World Golf Championships in Texas this March. His odds to finish on top now are +1800.00 on BetOnline.

The runner-up of last weekend’s Mexico Open, Tony Finau will also compete in this tournament. The world No18 started this year with poor results but has been improving a lot in the last few months. The member of the Ryder Cup winning US team has the odds of +2200.00 to get the win this weekend. Similar odds are offered for world No25 Matthew Fitzpatrick who got four top-10 finishes this season. The English players has 7 European Tour wins so far including two DP World Tour Championship titles from Dubai. But he hasn’t won any PGA Tour event yet. The world No23 was T2 in this year’s Arnold Palmer Invitational. He also got two more top-10 finishes in the season. His only PGA Tour win is also from the 2019 Arnold Palmer tournament but he can get his next one this weekend. We can also find former tournament winners in the field like Max Homa and Jason Day. But their victories would be a big surprise now following their recent results. Homa got his last win in the 2021 Fortinet Championship last September. While his best result this year has been a T10 finish at The Genesis Invitational. The 2019 winner’s odds to win again are +4000.00.
