The tournament of 24 teams will take place in three Australian cities, Brisbane, Sydney, and Perth, between the 3rd and 12th of January. It is an early race, but good preparation for the Australian Open. In the ATP Cup 2020 betting predictions, the Spanish team is the favorite, but 3-4 other teams have similar chances for the victory.  The ATP Cup is a new tournament that was born from the ashes of the former ATP World Team Cup which was held between 1978 to 2012.  The format of the cup is similar to the new Davis Cup, where 18 teams were competing in one location. Here the 24 participating countries qualified based on the ranking of their best player. The teams will be divided into six four-teamed groups. The winners of each group and the two best second-placed teams will qualify to the quarter-finals. Spain is the favorite to win the tournament after their victory at the Davis Cup not long ago. But it might be a bit too much of an ask of them to win both cups.

ATP Cup 2020 betting predictions are expecting tight race between the favorites

Online sportsbooks in Australia are hoping for their team’s success, even though they are not the top favorites. They are in the same team with Germany, which doesn’t make their job too easy, but still should be able to qualify for the next round. Their odds are 9.00 to win the cup, in spite of being there only with a wild card, which is automatically given to the hosts. In the Australian team, we find Nick Krygios who is mostly famous for his outbursts at the court. But at the same time, he is a very talented player, currently being 30 at the world ranking.  Their opponent in the group, Germany has been offered slightly smaller odds, 8.00 for winning. They also have a great young player, Alexander Zverev in the team, who is only 22-year-old but has already won the 2018 ATP Finals. He hasn’t won any grand slam yet though, his best result has been reaching the quarter-final at the French Open. But many predict a great career for him, including Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. And we have to mention another great factor in the German team, their captain, who is not else than Boris Becker.  None of these teams reached the semi-finals of the Davis Cup, unlike Russia which did so. They defeated the Serbian team, which is always a big result as Novak Djokovic was part of the Serbian team. The Russian team has Daniil Medvedev who is fifth on the world ranking thanks to his recent great form. He reached the US Open final this year and has won seven ATP titles so far. The Russian team is very strong with another top 20 players, Karen Khachanov also playing in it. No wonder their odds are 7.00 at Unibet

Like in most tennis competitions, fans would like to see a Rafael Nadal-Novak Djokovic game in the final. Well, certainly Nadal has more chance to get there, with Roberto Bautista Agut alongside him in the team. They were very confident at the Davis Cup on home soil, with beating the teams of Russia, Croatia, Argentina, Great-Britain, and Canada on their way to the top spot. Online gambling sites in Australia are predicting similar success for them, with the odds of 5.00 to collect this trophy as well.  As the Serbian team is on a different path, the two superstars could technically only meet at the final. In the Davis Cup, it didn’t happen, as Serbia went out at the quarter-final after losing against Russia. According to the ATP Cup 2020 betting predictions, they have similar chances than the other teams to reach the final. With his partner, Dusan Lajovic Djoko will try to get to the final in Sydney and make history with winning the first ATP Cup.  Although the tournament is between countries, it still offers a great opportunity to practice and get prepared for the Australian Open, you can also read our predictions about the men’s and women’s race.
