Chernobyl is one of the most horrifying tragedies mankind has brought upon themselves. The unfortunate town of Pripyat still suffers the catastrophic effects of the Nuclear power plant explosion. HBO recently released a mini-series which depicts the dreadful tale in a rather exceptional approach. The show received praise throughout the globe and now ranks as the top show of all time on IMDb. Bet on Chernobyl rating for a comparison between the two shows.

Russian state TV will bring to our screens a new version of Chernobyl, which will show ‘what really happened’ in the small town of Pripyat. Chernobyl was the name of a nuclear power plant in Pripyat, a city in Ukraine. On the ill-fated day of 26th April 1986, reactor no. 4 blew up contaminating the entire city with radiation in a matter of a few hours. The grim irony of the night was that it was seemingly aesthetically beautiful, with a bright blue beam reaching out to the stars. In 48 hours, radiation levels in the atmosphere were detected in Sweden. The high velocity at which the radiation spread is a somber testament to the magnitude of the disaster.

Chernobyl mini-series on HBO have been able to depict a dramatic yet informative piece of art. The show premiered on HBO in May 2019. With 5 episodes in total, the show was thorough enough to cover the highlights of the accident. NTV prepares to air the show late this year and promises the viewers the actual truth behind the Chernobyl disaster.

Bet on Chernobyl rating on NTV to overhaul HBO

Chernobyl mini-series are leading the IMDb charts with a 9.5 rating and a 95% on rotten tomatoes. The rating certainly speaks for itself and thus manifests the popularity of the show. In addition, achieving such success after only 5 episodes is an accomplishment in itself. Director Johan Renck, along with cinematographer Jakob Ihre created a world of despair which truly reflected upon the harsh realities of the tragedy.

HBO’s Chernobyl revolves around Professor Valery Lagasov played by Jared Harris. Legasov was approached by the authorities to make an assessment of the damages and form a report that could be presented to the government. However Legasov takes it upon himself to uncover the truth about what actually caused the accident. Online gambling news in the US suggests the actors gave a memorable performance which will stick with the audience for a long time.

On top of this, Chernobyl bagged 10 Emmys out of a whopping 19 nominations- taking home the Outstanding Limited Series 2019 award as well.

Bet on Chernobyl rating for the upcoming NTV series

Quite contrary to the heap of praise Chernobyl HBO has been gathering globally, that has certainly not been the case in Russia. According to the director, Alexey Muradov, the NTV show will show people ‘what really happened’ at the nuclear power plant. Unlike the take on the events of the disaster from the perspective of the Professor or government in the HBO series, the Russian one will center on a CIA agent.

Still unsure regarding the infiltration of the CIA agent at the power plant, the crew at NTV are confident about the shows success. Muradov talks about the grounds for his project, “There is a theory that the Americans had infiltrated the Chernobyl nuclear power plant and many historians do not deny that on the day of the explosion an agent of the enemy’s intelligence services were present at the station.”

In conclusion, it does seem the focus points for both the series are a different ends from each other. Since they both opted for a similar title, comparisons will be drawn without question. However, it seems highly unlikely NTV’s Chernobyl will overhaul HBO’s award-winning mini-series. Online gambling sites in the US, namely 1xbet have odds of the aforementioned theory at 50.
