  • Find out who to bet on for the worst film ever in 2020

Nominees will soon be announced for the 2021 Razzies, the notorious satirical award celebrating Hollywood’s biggest under-achievements. The award show happens around the annual Oscar’s, but it is safe to say that betting on the worst film ever can be even more entertaining. Find out the predictions for the worst creations of cinematography throughout 2020.

It has been a tough year for the film industry. We can already see several possible “winners” listed on online sportsbook sites in Canada. The nominees will be announced on March 14th, with final results unveiled on Oscar Eve (Saturday, April 24). You can already make your bet on the worst film ever, prepare that they might be too painful to sit through. In this article, we are taking a look at some of the shameful works of Hollywood already generating some Razzie buzz. Let’s see what critics have to say about expected winners of worst picture this year!

Dolittle is critics’ first bet on the worst film ever

On 1xBET Sportsbook., Dolittle is currently the leading contestant with 2.5 odds. This remake is especially embarrassing, considering that it features some of our well-loved actors. The performance did not impress Robert Downey Junior fans, the actor claims, that he did it for the kids. Maybe for different reasons, but the whole family can get a good laugh if you can sit through.  Dolittle currently has a score of 14% on Rotten Tomatoes, and 28/100 on Metacritic. It has attracted more than a few comparisons to Cats, another recent movie that featured an abundance of CGI and talking animals (Source: Screenrent).  Trashed by critics, Cats notably took the Razzie home last year. Critics claim that the jokes are very stale, and young audiences deserve better than this cheap, low-point production. Whatever happened to making quality kids’ films?

Artemis Fowl: Another cheap adaptation

We should have learned by now, that adaptations and remakes are risky. Artemis Fowl is so badly made, that it is right next to Dolittle when it comes to harsh critics. In the written series, Artemis Fowl is a 12-year-old genius and descendant of a long line of criminal masterminds. He soon finds himself in an epic battle against a race of powerful underground fairies who may be behind his father’s disappearance (Source: Rotten Tomatoes). However, Fredia Shaw’s portrayal of this exciting character is rather underwhelming. The audience did not receive well how much they have changed the plot and Artemis’s character – and for the worst. The quality of the CGI was only okay for an early 2000s movie. With an 8% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, Artemis Fowl is currently at 2.8 odds on 1xBET Sportsbook. It seems to be that the Disney production could also be our best bet on the worst film ever.

Other likely bets on the worst film ever

The list of possible winners for the worst film is awkwardly long. We attempt to highlight a few, that are popping on online sportsbooks in Canada.  Critics have been so harsh on the dull reboot, Fantasy Island, the cast probably regretted taking on this project. The film struggled to find a target audience, not to mention its constant shifting between genres. The only thing that scared the audience in this wannabe thriller/ horror was how bad it was. As a result, this movie is out to be one of those “forgettable for a good” reason types.

The Witches, another fantasy/adventure film is also right on top of betting lists. The remake of the original 1990 film suggests, that there might be a pattern here. Another failed attempt to fill ticket offices with low effort.

Another honourable mention is Netflix original 365 Days, a Polish-Italian rip-off of Fifty Shades of Grey. It is safe to say that we witnessed one of the worst acting and plot in this 2020 production. A 0% Rotten Tomatoes rating is only supporting this statement.
