Deputy Nooshi Dadgostar Leads the Odds for New Left Party Leader in Sweden

The announcement of the Left Party leader Jonas Sjostedt to step down in May has triggered an early leadership contest. According to the odds for a new Left Party leader in Sweden, it will most certainly be a woman. On top is the young, energetic and popular Nooshi Dadgostar.

The current chairman of the Left Party Jonas Sjostedt spent eight years in his post. He has announced on January 15 that he will step down at the party’s annual conference in May. He intends to spend more time with his family in Vietnam. Online sportsbook news sites in Sweden claim it will be difficult to find a suitable replacement. Dadgostar obtained a law degree from the Univerity of Stockholm. Later on, she became an MP and in 2018 took the deputy leader office in the Left Party. Ulla Andersson has a very solid political experience with the Left Party. She is a veteran, previously running for the leadership in 2011. Among the top underdogs who might throw their hat in the arena is Rosanna Dinamarca with 4.5 odds as per online sportsbooks in Sweden. She has recently voiced her criticism of the leadership. Besides, she announced that she will not continue as a parliamentary member. It seems Dinamarca will be highly interested to challenge for the top spot. But it is difficult to see her win.

However, she later dropped the idea and firmly decided that she will not run for the candidacy.
