The announcement of the Left Party leader Jonas Sjostedt to step down in May has triggered an early leadership contest. According to the odds for a new Left Party leader in Sweden, it will most certainly be a woman. On top is the young, energetic and popular Nooshi Dadgostar.

The current chairman of the Left Party Jonas Sjostedt spent eight years in his post. He has announced on January 15 that he will step down at the party’s annual conference in May.
