While in most of the Europa League’s 12 groups we already know the two qualifying teams, there are groups where the question is still open. Like in Group F, where three teams are fighting for the first two places, including Italian top side Napoli or Dutch Feyenoord. In the EL Matchday 6 betting predictions we checked the odds for the most exciting games, let’s see them now.
48 teams have started the group stage of this season’s Europa League. But before the last matchday most of the teams already know if they can continue the competition next year. Big teams like Arsenal, Roma or Villareal can take their last games easy as they have already won their groups. While other teams including Tottenham, Benfica and Bayer Leverkusen will play for the top spot in the last round. But we can also find groups with more tight situations, with still three teams with a chance to qualify. Or in some cases two teams fighting for the remaining qualifying place in the group.
EL Matchday 6 betting predictions favor Napoli against Sociedad
Napoli lead Group F with 10 points but they need to win to secure their qualification to the next round. As both Real Sociedad and AZ Alkmaar are behind them with 8 points and could still qualify with a win. But luckily Napoli’s faith is in their hand as with a win at home against the Spanish team they will win the group. Gennaro Gattuso’s team hasn’t started the season too well but is playing much better now. So no surprise that online sportsbooks in Italy favor them to win the game with the odds of 1.95.
In the other game in the group AZ will visit the home of Croatian team HNK Rijeka where the guests should get the win. If they do so, they can easily go through along with Napoli to the next round. In Group A, where the other Italian team, AS Roma have already won the group, Young Boys will host CFR Cluj. The Swiss champions are favored to win the game with the odds of 1.53 in the EL Matchday 6 betting predictions. Which would also mean a runner-up finish in the group.
Teams fighting for second qualifying spot
In Group B Rapid Vienna will host Norwegian side Molde on Thursday night. The Austrian team is currently in 3rd place but with a 1-0 or 2 goal win they can overtake Molde. Israeli Maccabi Tel Aviv and Turkish Sivasspor are fighting for second place in Group I and will face each other in Israel. In their previous meeting Maccabi could defeat the Turkish team 2-1 and favored to win at home as well with the odds of 2.15.
While in Group K the situation is similar, as the two competing teams will play against each other. Current 2nd team, Austrian Wolfsberg will host Feyenoord in the last round. The Dutch team is predicted to win with the odds of 2.30 even though they lost 4-1 at home against Wolfsberg. So we shouldn’t write off the Austrian team which finished third in the domestic league last season. They are only in 7th place now, but qualifying to the last 32 in the Europa League would be a huge booster for the club. They have the odds of 2.80 for a win on bet365.
Battling for the top spot in the groups
In Group C the top two and already qualified teams, Slavia Prague and Bayer Leverkusen will meet in Germany and fight for the top spot. Leverkusen need a win to achieve that but they have the odds of 1.55 to do so. Rangers and Benfica will both play away in the last round against Lech Poznan and Standard Liege. If both teams can get the three points, the Scottish team should win the group.
At the same time the Scottish champion, Celtic are already out of the competition after having only one point out of five games. They will host French group leader Lille, who can win the group ahead of AC Milan with another victory. Meanwhile the Italians will play against Sparta Prague in their last game with the odds of 1.55 to win. But even online gambling sites in Italy offer the odds of 2.75 to top their group. English teams Tottenham and Leicester are both favored to win their groups with a good performance in their last group games.
