Whilst a lot of Irish eyes will be on Rory McIlroy at The Open at Royal Portrush this weekend the racing world will have its attention firmly fixed on Curragh as the three-year old fillies line up for the mile and four furlongs hoping to beat those fleeting Irish Oaks odds. At Bet365, one of the best online betting sites in the UK, Iridessa gets the nod at 2/1 but Pink Dogwood is right on its shoulder and Star Catcher is now in the mix for what is likely to be an extremely tight horse race. A tradition dating back to 1895, it was only in 1915 that they extended it a further four furlongs from the original mile, but as ever it attracts Epsom Oaks entrants and those hoping to go onto the Yorkshire Oaks the following month, and this year is no different. The fleeting Irish oaks odds that dance about with each passing day signal this is going to be no easy race to predict and the bookies are keeping the prices close to their chest as even Iridessa is only getting 2/1 to win.
2019 Irish Oaks at bet365
  • Operatic Export – 100/1
  • Chablis – 50/1
  • Credenza – 50/1
  • Goddess – 33/1
  • Peach Tree – 33/1
  • Search For A Song – 14/1
  • Trethias – 12/1
  • Antonia De Vega – 10/1
  • Manuela De Vega – 7/1
  • Fleeting – 6/1
  • Star Catcher – 4/1
Naturally, behind this well backed favorite, there’s a whole host of other choices although much of the smart money that is on the likes of Pink Dogwood at 5/2 and the recently included Star Catcher which is now garnering around 4/1 and could be an excellent bet on sports in Ireland this weekend. Fleeting Irish Oaks odds loiter meaningfully at 6/1 only just placing it ahead of Manuela De Vega at 7/1, a price putting it significantly ahead of Antonia De Vega at 10/1.

Star Catcher Could Burn Off Iridessa At The Curragh

This being the Irish Oaks the favorites won’t be the only runners getting backed, although there won’t be many plumping for the talents of Operatic Export at 100/1, and, with the best will in the world, it’s hard to see a lot of those hitting up Bet365 deciding the 50/1 shots Chablis and Credenza are worth the risk. The flit and fleeting Irish Oaks odds currently put Goddess and Peach Tree at 33/1 although neither one really has a prayer nor is likely to bear much fruit.

Search For A Song gets 14/1, possibly because it was beaten by 12/1 chance Trethias last time out at Naas, and by nearly three lengths at that. That win was a return to form for Trethias but amid this very strong field you’re probably best off taking that one each-way if you’re going to take advantage of Irish gambling laws and back it among these changeably fleeting Irish Oaks odds. With such blazing talent at the head of the field much of the rest will be lucky to place.

Fleeting Irish Oaks Odds Now Just 6/1 At Bet365

Manuel De Vega hasn’t returned to winning ways after it’s break but could easily place in this race, and the Fleeting Irish Oaks odds reflect that it has started to creep towards more wins having got third at Epsom and second at Ascot. Of course that day it was beaten by Star Catcher which has shown remarkable legs and is possibly the canny wager this time round, if you don’t believe this one will be fought out between the top two at the bookies like Bet365 right now.

Pink Dogwood and Iridessa have a history. On the same course at the end of June they clashed over a mile and two furlongs, and on that occasion it was the 2/1 favorite who came out ahead by a clear three and a half lengths. Can Iridessa do it again? The bookies like Bet365, one of the best online betting sites in Ireland today, certainly think so but with Star Catcher in the mix that might not be as much of a sure thing as those very fickle and fleeting Irish Oaks odds suggest.
