News has come out that a number of lawmakers in Georgia have introduced a new DFS legalization bill. Will 2017 be the year it gets passed?

Five prominent Georgia state representatives have recently filled a new DFS legalization bill, called House Bill 118, in a bid to get regulated online daily fantasy sports inside the country. This bill’s official aim is to “provide for the licensing, registration, regulation, and taxation of fantasy contest operators.”

This bill is very similar to previous Georgian DFS bills proposed in the past, but DFS proponents hope this one will be the one to get passed due to the large number of politicians backing it.

If US gambling news gets made and HB 118 is passed, DFS companies with Georgian customers will need to register in the state. It will also set the companies registration fees at $10,000, and set an annual gross revenue tax of 6%.

FanDuel has commented on this new DFS legalization bill, stating “The bill takes the right approach by installing the consumer protections that have now been proven to work in many other states, while tailoring the correct specific touches for the state of Georgia. It updates older state laws to reflect changes in technology and the evolution of fantasy sports, and provides a path for the industry to generate revenue for the state as the fantasy sports industry continues to grow.”

What fantasy sports contests does FanDuel offer?

Over the past several years, FanDuel has grown to become one of the leaders in the US DFS industry. They offer a wide range of amazing online daily fantasy contests for cash including daily fantasy football, daily fantasy basketball, and daily fantasy golf.

They also offer some amazing offers for their players. Right now, all new members are eligible for 5 free entries into beginner contests after making their first deposit.
