Emma Stone: 8/11

Emma Stone has been one of the biggest actresses in Hollywood for years. Her first major breakthrough came in 2009 from Superbad, and she’s continued to star in a number of highly successful films. Arguably her best role to date came recently in La La Land.

Best Actress Betting Odds

  • Emma Stone: 8/11
  • Natalie Portman: 7/4
  • Isabelle Huppert: 11/2
  • Ruth Negga: 25/1
  • Meryl Streep: 50/1

Stone was universally praised for her performance here. Michael Phillips of the Chicago Tribune was one of the most vocal supporters of Stone, writing “she’s reason enough to see La La Land.” Emma has already been nominated for an Academy Award in the past, and nearly all online sportsbooks in the UK list her as the betting favorite to win this year with odds of 8/11.

Natalie Portman: 7/4

Natalie Portman gave arguably her darkest and most powerful acting performance to date playing Jackie Kennedy in the 2016 film, Jackie. Critics were quick to predict Portman would earn an Oscar nomination for the role, and is now one of the best choices to bet on the best actress award.

Jackie received high praise from most critics, and currently holds an 89% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Natalie Portman was a key reason for the film’s success, and is a very deserving actress for the prestigious award. PaddyPower lists Portman’s odds to win at 7/4.

Isabelle Huppert: 11/2

If you haven’t heard of the 2016 psychological thriller Elle, do yourself a favor and watch it. This French film focuses on a powerful businesswomen (Isabelle Huppert) who is attacked in her home and slowly plots her revenge on the assailant.

The entire film focuses on Huppert’s character, and it’s her that carries the movie. She may be a slight Oscar betting underdog, but it wouldn’t exactly make UK gambling news if the earns the nomination. Huppert’s odds to win are currently set at 11/2.
