There’s no doubt that the UK has one of the most passionate fan bases in the world, and many people here love to place wagers on the results of major tournaments. There are a number of tremendous online sportsbooks in the UK offering betting odds for these tournaments, but in this article we’ll focus on the odds set by Paddy Power.

We’re now heading into the final quarter of 2017, and there are a number of great golf tournaments you can still bet on. Let’s take a look at who’s coming in as the favorite for each one.

Bet on the 2017 PGA Championship

We at GamingZion recently covered how Irish golf fans can bet on the PGA Championship this year, and now we’ll take a look at the odds for UK fans. This will be the last major championship of 2017, and many golf betting experts feel it will be the most exciting.

2017 PGA Championship favorites
  • Brooks Koepka: 7/1
  • Rickie Fowler: 7/1
  • Hideki Matsuyama: 9/1
  • Rory McIlroy: 9/1
  • Dustin Johnson: 10/1
Rory McIlroy is a current PGA Championship betting favorite. This is likely due to McIlroy’s past success at Quail Hallow where the tournament is being held. Over the past few days Rory’s odds have actually lowered to 9/1, but many feel this is his time to shine.

If you want to bet on a PGA Championship underdog, consider placing a bet on Jordan Spieth. The 24 year old has already won a number of majors including the Masters and US Open, and has a real shot at earning the win this year in North Carolina. Spieth’s odds to win the PGA Championship are set at 16/1.

Bet on the 2017 Solheim Cup

The Solheim Cup is an extremely exciting event that takes place every 2 years, and now is one of the best golf tournaments you can still bet on in 2017. The best female players from both the USA and Europe face off against each other in a 3 day event. Some tremendous odds are available for both teams.

The USA are the reigning champions, having won in an extremely close match with a score of 14 ½ against Europe’s 13 ½. Both teams have some extremely talented players heading into the tournament beginning on August 18th, though it’s team USA that enters as the favorite with odds of 4/9.

The European team will be captained by Annika Sorenstam, who’s told the media she’s confident her team will be victorious this year. Europe last won in 2013, but at the moment Paddy Power Sportsbook lists their odds to win at 21/10.

Bet on the 2018 Masters

Okay, so this won’t actually be taking place this year, but it’s still one of the best golf tournaments you can still bet on in 2017. In fact, placing a bet on the 2018 Masters might be a great idea, as the odds for certain players might offer you a fantastic opportunity to cash out.

At the moment, Dustin Johnson is the 2018 Masters betting favorite. He hasn’t won a major since 2016, but he’s consistently one of the best players in tournaments. It remains to be seen how Johnson will perform for the rest of this year, but his odds to win the Masters in 2018 are currently set at 7/1.

Why not go a little crazy and bet on a huge golf betting underdog? Bubba Watson is still one of the best players in the world, but has odds of just 50/1 to make UK gambling news with the win next year.
