American and international poker enthusiasts are gearing up for the second season of rewarding Hollywood Poker Open Tournament.

Hollywood Poker Open (HPO) Tournament Series has already kicked off for its second season. The first event was held in Lawrenceburg, awarding 3 seats for the $500,000 guaranteed HPO Championship Event.

The first season held in full compliance with American gambling laws was quite a success with 200 players qualified for the big finale at Penn National Gaming's properties United States wide. Additional 400 players registered for the big event last year, bringing the total number of participants to over 600 and the prize pool to around $1.5 million.

Ana Marquez of Malaga, Spain, celebrated victory at the M Resort Spa Casino and walked away with $320,189 first prize. Second place and $197,806 went to Tepen of Bowling Green, while the third spot was captured by Kory Kilpatrick of Athens, GA, walking away with $129,641.

This time around the Hollywood Poker Open is split into six 10-day events, which will be hosted at Penn National Gaming's properties throughout USA. Everything will culminate with the $500,000 guaranteed HPO Championship Event at the M Resort Las Vegas in June 2014. Besides the obviously huge prize pool, players will have a chance to compete against and maybe even beat Chris Moneymaker, former WSOP champion, who is now HPO ambassador.

Hollywood Casino, Tunica, MS

The next HPO event is scheduled to take place at the Hollywood Casino Tunica from February 7th to February 16th, 2014. The 10-day poker bonanza will host 6 side events and the $1,800 buy-in Main Event, where at least 1 seat for the Grand Finale in Vegas will be awarded. Moneymaker will be there offering everyone a chance to beat the pro.

Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course, Grantville, PA

After that, it’s Grantville’s turn to host the HPO Regionals. Here poker players will compete from February 20th to March 2nd, 2014. Besides the Main Event with $1,800 buy-in, there will be a huge number of 31 side events. Expect the WSOP champion Moneymaker at the tables, and he also promised to allocate some time to talk to players and fans.

Hollywood Casino, St. Louis, MO

From March 7th to March 16th, 2014, poker enthusiasts are welcome to St.Louis to compete for a place at the $500,000 guaranteed event in Las Vegas. As usual Moneymaker will be there to try and bust them out. Besides the $1,800 buy-in Main Event, there will be five additional side-events.

Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races, Charles Town, WV

Charles Town will host the regionals from March 20-30, 2014. The information about side events is not yet available, but rest assured Chris Moneymaker will be there to take your money. Oh, and the $1,800 buy-in Main Event will as usual provide at least one seat to the $500,000 guaranteed event.

Hollywood Casino, Columbus, OH

Ohio will be the last regional stop before the final tournament. The events there will be hosted from May 16th to May 25th, 2014. Side-event information will be available later, but both $1,800 buy-in Main Event and Chris Moneymaker are a sure thing.

The Finale

Compete in the Hollywood Poker Open Season 2

• Hollywood Poker Open Season 2 is under way
• Series of Regional Tournaments across USA
• Final Tournament at one of the best American poker rooms in Las Vegas
The Season Finale of the Hollywood Poker Open will take place at the Forbes Travel Guide Four Star M Resort Spa & Casino in Las Vegas in June 27-29, 2014. The resort has nearly 400 guest rooms and suites and provides remarkable views of the famous Vegas skyline. And of course, one of the most luxurious American poker rooms to host the tournament.

The regional events and the season finale will cater to any kind of poker player. There will be no limit hold’em, pot-limit Omaha events, senior events, ladies events, and much more. Naturally, a wide variety of qualifiers and satellites will be available for both regional and final event for those, wishing to win their places without paying big bucks.

As for Chris Moneymaker, despite the fact that he’s an HPO ambassador, he will be shelling out his own cash, and naturally will be competing for a seat at the finals as well as a piece of the championship prize pool, just like an ordinary participant.

Regional event winners will be rewarded with an official HPO trophy. There will be an HPO package worth $4,000 for the player with the highest point total from feature events.

There’s nothing else left to do for poker enthusiasts from around the world, than head over to the next stop of the Hollywood Poker Open and compete for their seat at the finals and possibly a share of the guaranteed $500,000 prize pool, which will certainly rise even further by the time they get to Las Vegas.
