  • Vivint Houston Open is held this weekend, 6-8 November in Houston, Texas
  • It is the last PGA Tour event before the Masters
  • World No1 Dustin Johnson is the main favorite

On the last PGA Tour event before the Masters several top players will take part in the Vivint Houston Open in Houston, Texas this weekend. American Lanto Griffin won the tournament last year but he is not the main favorite in this year’s field. The Houston Open winner odds predict a great performance from Dustin Johnson, let’s see the odds of the main favorites.

The Houston Open was first held in 1946 and has been organized in several different locations in Houston since. This year it moved back to a former location, the Memorial Park Golf Course, which has been renovated and redesigned with the assistance of Brooks Koepka. As it is the last race before the Masters, it has a special importance for players who haven’t qualified to the last major championship of 2020. But they will face a tough job to win the tournament in a field full of top players. Including world No1 Dustin Johnson who is the main favorite this time and four other top 20 players.

Houston Open winner odds favor world ranking leader Johnson for victory

Dustin Johnson has returned to the No1 position in the world ranking this August. Thanks to winning two PGA Tours, the Travelers Championship and the Northern Trust in the summer. The 36-year-old American continued in great form. He also got the victory at the Tour Championship and at the FedEx Cup. He was voted the PGA Tour Player of the Year and he is in the favorites to win at the Masters too. First though Johnson will compete in Houston where online sportsbooks in the US offer the smallest odds, 8.50 for his victory.

Tyrell Hatton has also been playing on a high level recently. He won the European Tour’s event of the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth just a few weeks ago. The English player also won the Arnold Palmer Invitational tournament this March which was a part of the PGA Tour. Thanks to his latest victory he got to the top 10 on the world ranking for the first time in his career. This open will give him a good opportunity to prepare for the Masters and achieve a great result in a major tournament as well. Here he has the odds of 17.00 according to the Houston Open winner odds.

Other favorites include Koepka who helped to design the new course

Brooks Koepka hasn’t played too much this season due to injuries. He had to withdraw from the US Open and FedEx Playoffs. But he played in the CJ Cup in October finishing in T28. Familiarity with the new course might give some advantage to the two-time US Open and PGA Championship winner though. Koepka’s odds to win the Houston Open is 21.00 on Bet Online.

Online gambling sites in the US also mention world No17 Tony Finau in the favorites with the odds of 18.00. Another American player in good form after a T4 result from the PGA Championship and finishing T8 in the US Open. While Russel Hanley is another player favored by many experts to win this tournament. He has four top 10 finishes in PGA Tour this year including top four finishes in his last two starts. Now Hanley’s odds to win his 4th PGA Tour title is 23.00.
