Each card suit in rummy ranks like this from low to high: Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, and K. The value of each numbered card is equal to its face value (e.g. two will be worth 2 points). Ace, King, Queen, and Jack have 10 points each.

How to set up the game

- Melding can be done once per one turn. To make a meld, the player must have a minimum of 3 cards in a row of the same suit (e.g. 2, 3, 4 of hearts) or equal cards (e.g. three 7s). Also, Joker can help to form a row of three in case the player has 2 and Ace.
- Laying off is the most interesting part of learning how to play rummy. It continues the previous way (melding) if you discard three cards of the same number (e.g. 3 jacks). If you have the last 4th jack during the gaming process, you can put it to the pile to complete your set. You can repeat this step any time you have such a combination.
- Discarding is the easiest step in rummies. Every turn allows you to discard any card and put it to the pile.
The game stops once one of the players has no cards to play. All the players start counting their points according to the card ranking in rummy. All the points are given to the one who got rid of his/her cards first. Then the game starts again.
