  • LPGA Gainbridge Championship is held between 25-28 February in Florida
  • The legend of the sport, Annika Sorenstram will return after 13 years
  • Top South Korean players Jin Young Ko and Sei Young Kim are the favorites
The 2021 LPGA Tour will continue this week with the Gainbridge Championship, held between the 25-28 February in Florida. Several top women players will take part in the tournament. But the focus might be on a former world No1, Annika Sorenstsam who makes her return after 13 years. The LPGA Gainbridge betting predictions expect a tight race between today’s best players, Jin Young Ko and Sei Young Kim.  This will be only the second edition of the Gainbridge LPGA at Boca Rio tournament after its debut last season. That event was won by Swedish Madelene Sagstrom who got her first LPGA Tour victory in her career. She will be back again just like six of the top seven players in the world ranking. Including the current world No1 Jin Young Ko. The winners of previous major championships will also be present just like the winner of the first event of the season, Jessica Korda. The main news of the tournament though is the return of Annika Sorenstam, the former world No1. She is the winner of 90 international tournaments, including 10 majors. She is also the holder of several scoring records. One of the best women golfers of all time will compete again after her retirement 13 years ago.

LPGA Gainbridge betting predictions favor top South Korean players

The current world No1 Jin Young Ko is the top favorite of online sportsbooks in the US to win the tournament with the odds of +600. The 25-year-old South Korean player won the season ending CME Group Tour Championship last December. It was her seventh LPGA Tour victory. She also finished T2 in the 2020 US Women’s Open to increase her lead in the world ranking. Ko will make her debut in the Gainbridge Championship just like her main rival, Sei Young Kim. The world No2 Kim has also had a great last season after winning her first major, the 2020 Women’s PGA Championship. She also won the 2020 Pelican Women’s Championship. Kim was voted the LPGA Player of the Year thanks to her impressive performance. Now the 12-time LPGA Tour winner has the odds of +600 to get another win in the LPGA Gainbridge betting predictions.

Top US players are also in the favorites

American player Danielle Kang is currently in 5th place in the world ranking, behind her compatriot, Nelly Korda. Kang finished as a runner-up in the first event of the 2021 season at the Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions in Lake Buena Vista. Kang also won two LPGA Tour events last season and had three more top 10 finishes. The 2017 Women’s PGA Championship winner has the odds of +1000 to finish on top. Online gambling sites in the US also mention the younger Korda sister, Nelly Korda in the top favorites. The 22-year-old was close to her first major win in last year’s ANA Inspiration but lost in the playoff. She started this season in great form as well after finishing third at the Diamond Tournament. Now Korda has the odds  of +1100 to get her next victory. While last year’s winner, Swedish Madelene Sagstrom will try to defend her title. It was her first and so far only win in the LPGA Tour, but she spent the winter in Florida to prepare for the new season. Now her victory in the strong field is not very likely and has the odds of +12500 on BetOnline.
