The 'Gift of Giving' initiative is a product of Microgaming PlayItForward, Microgaming’s CSR programme which encompasses sport, education, charity, healthcare, community and ambassadors.

Microgaming, which hosts the largest progressive jackpot network, under UK gambling laws, has made a donation to four different charities as part of its 'Gift of Giving' endeavor. Back in 2013, Microgaming launched a gift donation initiative, whereby instead of offering Christmas gifts to charities the world-leading software developer decided to share the gift of giving.

Clients and close business contacts were asked to vote for their chosen charity out of four world regions in Africa, Asia, Australia and Rest of the World. The charity with the most votes from each region would receive a gift donation from Microgaming. The four charities to receive donations were Chiva, WWF, Cure Cancer Australia Foundation and the British Red Cross.

After much success in its first year, the initiative was again held in December 2014 for the second time. The 4 Charities who recently received the GBP 7, 500 gift donation from Microgaming were Medecins Sans Frontiers, Africa, Change Heroes, Asia, White Ribbon, Australia and Hospice Isle of Man, the self-governing British Crown Depenency, Rest of the World.

Hospice movement is internationally recognized

Head of Microgaming PlayItForward, Claire Coleman, proudly explained that the 'Gift of Giving' initiative was the best way to show that Microgaming cared and the company expressed its sincere gratitude to those who play online casino in the UK and elsewhere, using Microgaming software, as they have contributed to supporting the initiative.

Head of Income Generation, Hospice Isle of Man, Mary Doyle, acknowledged that the Hospice movement is internationally recognized said it was “a fabulous idea” for Microgaming give them support which was “very much appreciated”. She continued saying “This amazing donation will make a real difference to our charity. To receive this donation along with such fabulous charities is very gratifying – thank you”.

The donation provided by Microgaming amounts to almost one month’s care in the In-Patient unit at Hospice Isle of Man. Microgaming remains a pillar of its local community on the Isle of Man, as well as it focuses on health, sport, education, charity and community abroad.
