Kevin Harvick leads the championship 13 points ahead of Denny Hamlin
In the first race of the Round of 8 Nascar drivers will race at Kansas Speedway in Kansas this Sunday, the 18th of October. Danny Hamlin is the defending champion at this track and also one of the favorites in the NASCAR Hollywood Casino 400 odds. But championship leader Kevin Harvick will also go for the victory just like the remaining contestants.
The first NASCAR race was hosted in the 1,5 mile track in Kansas in 2001. But it will be the first time that it’s the opening race of the round of 8. In the previous race winners here we can find most of the eight remaining drivers from Kevin Harvick to Joey Logano. Both of them managed to win here twice in the past. While last season’s champion Kyle Busch couldn’t qualify for the last eight, he can’t defend his title. But there are several other contenders for it with Harvick leading at the moment.

Both of them have won in Kansas before. Harvick could do it twice, in 2013 and 2016 while Hamlin won last season’s race here. If we check their recent forms, probably Hamlin seems to be in a better one. As after finishing third at South Point 400, he won in Yellawood. But he only finished 15th in the previous race at Charlotte Speedway in spite of starting from the pole position. So now he has to try and catch Harvick. Trueux and Elliott can also fight for the victory in Kansas
Online gambling sites in the US also mention Martin Truex Jr with the same chances as Hamlin to win the race. He is in 6th place at the moment in the championship, but the 2017 champion can still get to the top position. He would need another victory though beside the single one of this season to have a chance. But Truex has been quite consistent in the second part of the season, with 8 podium finishes since the end of July. We’ll see if he can get an even better result in the track where he won three years ago.
While the winner of the previous race in Charlotte, Chase Elliott will also start from the pole position this time. The young driver of Hendrick Motorsports can achieve his best result in his NASCAR Cup Series career this season. As he is currently in 4th place, and the podium is only 8 points away. He already got three victories this year and this track is one of his strongest. Elliott has finished here 2nd and 4th beside his win in 2018. Now his odds to continue his winning streak is 6.50 on Intertops.
