On September 9, Pokerstars began to contact its members about upcoming changes to the Pokerstars VIP program and rewards system.

In 2016, Pokerstars has overhauled its VIP program, creating plenty of buzz in the online poker community. According to the site’s blog, the poker giant have seen improvement in the targeted areas. “More players are seeing a flop, recreational players are depositing more, and new players are playing more,” states Pokerstars.

The new Pokerstars VIP program is a monthly status

Seeing the improvements, Pokerstars decided to further change the VIP rewards program in 2017. The new Pokerstars rewards system will apply to all platforms, including sports betting, and casino, not only poker rooms online. Players can expect more rewards for many different things “rather than solely being rewarded for playing a lot of poker hands as is the case currently.”

Upon the introduction of the new system, Pokerstars VIP programs, such as the Supernova, will change to a monthly status instead of a year-long one. Pokerstars admitted that some of the changes have impacted high volume players, however, they maintain that the news had a positive effect on all other players.
