Fans of this wonderful sport, listen up. Keep on reading to find some of our favorite and most talented jockeyson Earth.

The horseracing story doesn’t stop at the jockeys’ physical characteristics, though. Yes, the horse is vitally important, but jockeys have to know every strength and weakness to be able to control their horses appropriately. They have to know how the racetracks will be, how much space their horse needs.
• Many born into jockey families
• Knowledge of the tracks is a must
• Impressive achievements from youngsters
They also have to do research on their rivals: how fast they are and how long it takes for them to get tired. They have to take the weather into account and how wet the track can become. I mean, they really have to take a lot of intel into consideration. So anyone who says it’s all about the horses, is a darn liar.

Mike E. Smith

Also a fave of mobile betting sites, New Mexico-born Mike started riding at a young age with his father, who was also a jockey. He received his jockey’s license at 16 and started an apprenticeship program in Minnesota. He has won more Breeders’ Cups than his temporaries and was introduced into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in 2003.

With both of his parents jockeys, it is no wonder that he, too, chose this profession. He wasn’t even 18 when he had his first win and by the time he turned 19, he won approximately 246 times. The same year, he was awarded the Eclipse Award for Outstanding Apprentice Jockey.
