It’s not even December yet and Carol S. already got her Christmas present after winning more than $200,000 at Slotland.

The woman hit a near record-breaking progressive jackpot playing Treasure Island. The $207,008 payout marks the biggest prize offered by the online and mobile casinos operator this year.

Casino manager Michael Hilary told reporters: “We had a couple of big wins over the summer – one of them really big. We were kind of hoping we’d have a big jackpot winner during our 16th birthday celebrations last month. But great for Carol that it kept building for a couple more weeks!”

The woman said she was going to use part of her winnings to travel to the Florida Keys and to Hawaii this winter. “I want to make a charitable donation too,” she added. “It’s just so hard to decide which one. I’m super excited to have won and still can’t really believe it.”

Turning players into winners

Licensed and registered in Anjouan, Slotland caters to thousands of players across the world, including in several countries governed by EU gambling laws. The casino’s jackpot is regularly hit several times a year. Lately, prizes have been averaged between $135,000 and $180,000.

But the jackpot hit by Carol is certainly among the largest ones ever, coming very close to the prize won by Henry W. in 2011, who took home $207,241 after playing Treasure Box. The record is held by an American player, Sinclair U., who won $266,800 playing Carnival.
