Answering doubts about Barcelona’s summer

There have been no blockbuster or mind-blowing signings in LaLiga in August. We saw many big departures but no new arrivals make people lose their minds. You might be saying to yourself, but what about Barcelona’s new players? While it’s true that most of them were registered in August and made their debuts shortly after but they all got signed in July. So technically Koundé, Lewandowski, Raphinha, Kessié, and Christensen all signed their contracts in July. Only that online sportsbooks news in Spain kept them in the spotlight because of the club’s financial struggles.

Tanguy Nianzou - One of the best LaLiga signings in August

Sevilla’s summer has been more about earning than spending. The club made a total income of €87 million from departures and spent only €28 million on new players. They released three center-backs this summer and brought in two. One of these two is the 20-year-old Tanguy Nianzou. Nianzou arrived from Bayern for a fee of €16 million and has a market value of €9 million. Tanguy’s also capable of playing as a defensive midfield, should Sevilla need his services. His contract is valid until 2027 so hopefully, he can get enough playing time to improve. The 20-year-old didn’t see much action in Germany as he only played 572 minutes last season, this was in 17 appearances. While this isn’t a huge transfer, later on, it could become one of the best LaLiga signings of August.

Isco can provide some invaluable experience to Sevilla

Isco signed for Sevilla on 7 August after being released from Real Madrid. The midfielder didn’t play much for the champions of Europe last season and his playing time was constantly reduced from season to season. In 2021/22 Isco only played 324 minutes for Los Blancos. After his last two seasons with Real, it was obvious that Isco wouldn’t get a contract renewal. As current Real manager Ancelotti said to his new players, that shirt is very heavy and not everyone can take its weight. Isco’s experience can prove useful to Sevilla’s young squad. He’s yet to make it into the starting eleven, but a player can be valuable in the locker room as well. Who wouldn’t want a five-time Champions League winner guiding them, giving them advice? We expect Isco to fill in for Papu Gomez from time to time. Check out 20Bet Sportsbook for Sevilla’s chances this season.

Edinson Cavani could turn out as the best August signing in LaLiga later on

Cavani is widely considered one of the best strikers of the past decade. The 35-year-old striker joined Valencia on a free transfer on 29 August. El Matador was injured for a good part of the season last year with United and things didn’t go well. He didn’t play much and only produced 2 goals in 15 appearances. However, Cavani has been much more brilliant for Uruguay in the past months. He captained his country to victory against Mexico and Panama, scoring two goals in each game, and drew with the US team although he only played 29 minutes.

Adding someone of Cavani’s stature for free is undoubtedly a smart move. According to online sportsbooks in Spain, the striker began training with his new club on Monday, 5 September. Official club reports also stated that Cavani’s debut date is not known yet. The 35-year-old currently follows an individual training plan until he can join the squad in action. His contract with Valencia lasts until 2024. If the forward can get back to his old form in the upcoming months, this trade will go down as one of the best LaLiga signings of August.
