Three months of Daily Fantasy Sports lobbying costed USD 100,000 for FanDuel and DraftKings.

In the fourth quarter of 2015, DraftKings spent USD 80,000 on lobbying for daily fantasy sports in the US. That’s 89% more on lobbying expenses than in the previous quarter. Meanwhile, FanDuel spent USD 20,000 on the same cause, which is the same amount the company spent in the third quarter. This was only the second time for both DFS operators to report lobbying activity.

Even more money on daily fantasy sports lobbying

“We are actively engaged with elected legislators and regulators across the country and in Washington to ensure that the millions of fantasy sports fans across the country can continue to play the games they love,” said DraftKings’ Director of Public Affairs, Griffin Finan. A FanDuel spokesman has confirmed similar activities. Also, the Fantasy Sports Trade Association (FSTA) was also lobbying for the legalization of DFS.
