  • Volunteers of America Classic takes place this week, 3-6 December in Texas
  • The event is part of the LPGA Tour
  • South Korean players Park and Ko are the top favorites

Some of the best women golfers will meet in Texas this week at the Volunteers of America Classic race. The event is part of the LPGA Tour with a $1,75 million prize fund and the  last opportunity to compete before the US Women’s Open. In the Volunteers of America Classic odds South Korean Imbee Park is the favorite, let’s see her biggest rivals.

This will be the 8th edition of the Volunteers of America Classic race held at the Old American Golf Club in The Colony, in Texas. The organization which is sponsoring the event is the Volunteers of America. It supports America’s most vulnerable groups, including veterans, seniors, people with disabilities. Of course, this year their job is even more important, but the golf race is also part of their tradition. 96 women players will take part in the competition including world ranking leader Jin Young Ko and world No5 Inbee Park. The latter has already won here twice, in 2013 and 2015 and is in the favorites again. Last year’s winner, Cheyenne Knight will also be here and will try to defend her title.

Volunteers of America Classic odds favor South Korean top players

Online sportsbooks in the US offer the smallest odds, 11.00 for the victory of South Korean Inbee Park. The former world No1 is currently in 5th place on the rankings but she is second in the Race to CME Globe standing. She won the Women’s Australian Open in the beginning of the year and finished 4th in the Women’s British Open. In October Park was also close to winning the Women’s PGA Championship so she is in great form. What’s more she has already won this event twice before so no wonder she is the top favorite.

Volunteers of America Classic odds
Let’s play!

Her countrywoman, Jin Young Ko can be one of her biggest rivals at the race. She has the odds of 13.00 in the Volunteers of America Classic odds. Ko is still leading the world ranking even though she hasn’t won any event this year yet. To be honest she has only competed in one LPGA Tour event this season, in the Pelican Women’s Championship two weeks ago. She finished in 34T position so she will surely aim for a better result here.

Chances of American players

As we mentioned Cheyenne Knight won the tournament last year but now her odds are only 41.00 to win it again. The 23-year-old American player is only in 85th place in the world ranking. Her best result this year is a 2nd place finish in the Scottish Open. Now she will have the chance to improve on her statistics. Online gambling sites in the US offer more chances to another American player, Ally McDonald. She is 34th in the rankings after winning her first LPGA Tour event this season, the LPGA Drive on Championship this October. Now her odds to win another title is 17.00.

We have to mention two more players, Japanese Nasa Hataoka and Australian Minjee Lee in the favorites. They are just behind each other in the world ranking in 7th and 8th place. They have the same odds, 13.00 to win on BetOnline.  Hataoka finished in 3T in the PGA Championship and had 5 more top 10 finishes. While Lee won the Dubai Moonlight Classic and also had five top 10 results in the season. So both of them can achieve great results again, even though they haven’t been so successful in this race yet.
