The world-famous NetBet Sportsbook has already set the betting odds for which of the world’s top golfers will win a major in 2017.

The first of four major golf competitions will take place on April 6th. This event, called the Masters, will involve most of the top golfers in the world. A number of betting favorites have already emerged, and some great underdog bets are available. All four of the golf Majors are already scheduled, so who will end 2017 with a trophy? Let’s take a look at the odds for which golfers will win a Major in 2017.

Jordan Spieth

2017 Masters betting odds
  • Jordan Spieth: 6/1
  • Dustin Johnson: 7/1
  • Rory McIlroy: 10/1
  • Hideki Matsuyama: 12/1
  • Jason Day: 12/1
Jordan Spieth is considered by many to be the best golfer in the world right now. The 23 year old won both the Masters and the US Open in 2015, and started this year off great with a victory at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, marking his ninth PGA Tour win before the age of 24.

Most online sportsbooks in the UK are predicting Spieth will get at least one Major win this year, and the betting odds are heavily swinging in his favor. His odds to win one are set at 2.90. Spieth’s odds not to win any Majors in 2017 are set at 1.39.

Dustin Johnson

South Carolina-born Dustin John first turned professional in 2007, and has risen up the ranks to become one of the top US golfers in the world. Johnson had the best year of his career in 2016, earning 6 top-10 finishes in his first 10 events, and a victory at the US Open. These accomplishments earned him the title of PGA Player of the year in 2016.

How many golfers will win a Major in 2017? No one knows, but it seems likely that Johnson will be one of them. His odds to win one are set at 2.75. The odds that Johnson does not win a Major in 2017 are set at 1.40.

Jason Day

The number-3 ranked golfer in the world, Jason Day, already has one PGA Major title under his belt. Will he get another in 2017? Why not place a bet on it with NetBet Sportsbook? Many golf betting experts feel he will earn a green jacket this year, and he’s already one of the betting favorites to win the 2017 Masters with odds of 12/1.

Day did not have as successful year in 2016 as he did in 2015. He will surely be looking to bounce back this year, especially considering he recently signed a new sponsorship deal with Nike. NetBet lists Day’s odds to win a Major this year at 2.60. His odds not to win one are set at 1.44.

Jimmy Walker

We had to throw in a serious underdog, right? Jimmy Walker certainly doesn’t have the name recognition as all the other golfers on this list, and is not at the top of most people’s prediction for which golfers will win a Major in 2017, but anything can happen in professional golf.

Walker had played in 187 events without winning a single PGA tour. In 2014, that finally changed, and in 2016 he made UK gambling news by capturing his first Major title by winning the 2016 PGA Championship. He’s without a doubt one of the most experienced golfers today, but many golfing analysts wonder when his age will catch up with him. He’s a serious underdog to win another Major this year with odds of 19.00. The odds for him not to win a Major this year are much higher at 1.01.
