  • Next FIS Ladies Alpine Ski World Cup race is in Courchevel, 12-13 December
  • Skiers will compete in two giant slalom races
  • Last year’s winner, Italian Federica Brignone is the top favorite

After the cancellation of the previous race in St Moritz, the Women’s Alpine Ski World Cup will continue in Courchevel, France. Skiers will compete in two giant slalom races being held this weekend, 12-13 December. Last year’s winner Federica Brignone is the top favorite in the Women’s Giant Slalom Courchevel odds. But her biggest rivals will also go for the victory.

The French ski resort of Courchevel will host the 11th edition of the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup this year. Top female skiers will compete in the Emile-Allais slalom stadium located in Courchevel 1850, in the La Loze section of the ski area. In the previous winners we can find Slovenian Tina Maze, American Mikaela Shiffrin and last year’s winner, Federica Brignone. She is favored to win here again. But her compatriots and other rivals will also go for the glory in the second giant slalom race of the season.

Women’s Giant Slalom Courchevel odds favor last year’s winner

Federica Brignone won the giant slalom race in Courchevel last season. She is the top favorite again by online sportsbooks in France. Her odds to defend her title here is 5.00. The Italian athlete produced two solid runs in 2019, finishing third in the first and fifth in the second leg. But it was enough to win the overall race and finish ahead of Norwegian Mina Fuerst Holtmann and Swiss Wendy Holdener. The latter athlete has the odds of 15.00 to win the race now,

But the defending giant slalom world cup winner might face tougher competition from her compatriot, Marta Bassino. The 24-year-old Italian won the first giant slalom race of this season in Solden, Austria. Bassino was 7th last year here but she seems to be in a better form now. Giant slalom is her strongest discipline after a 5th place finish in the 2018 Winter Olympics and 2 World Cup wins. She can easily produce another great result in Courchevel. Her odds to win the race is 6.50 in the Women’s Giant Slalom Courchevel odds.

Vhlova and Shiffrin can also have a say in women’s giant slalom courchevel odds

Slovakian Petra Vhlova is having the best season start of her career so far after winning three races already. She was the fastest in both slalom races in Levi and the winner of the parallel giant slalom in Lech. In Finland Vhlova managed to defeat her big rival, Mikaela Shiffrin who has returned to racing after 300 days. The two of them have been ruling the slalom since 2017, since then no one else but them could win a race in this discipline.

Both of them are great in giant slalom too, the American skier won in Courchevel twice before. This season Shiffrin will concentrate only on the technical races in slalom and giant slalom, we should see another great performance from her this weekend. Even though last year she finished only in the disappointing 17th place. Now online gambling sites in France offer the odds of 8.00 for her victory. While Vhlova’s chances are even better with the odds of 7.00 on 22Bet.
