Liverpool v Atalanta

Liverpool railed over Sparta Prague on their way to the quarter-finals of the Europa League, winning 11-2 on aggregate. After the defeat against Manchester United in the FA Cup, Liverpool has two competitions left that can be won – Europa League and Premier League. Out of those two, the former looks a lot more real than the latter unless Arsenal and City draw each other next game and Liverpool win. Atalanta is a challenging team to play against, and LFC played them several years ago in the UCL. The remaining teams in the Europa League are no weaklings, and all of them can win the competition, according to Betway.

Atalanta has been doing decently in Serie A and now occupies the 6th spot after a series of two draws and two losses. They have a genuine chance of taking the other two trophies, the Europa League and Coppa Italia. They are playing Fiorentina eight days before Liverpool and will most likely aim to win both of those games.

Verdict: Liverpool are the favourites to win the game and the entire competition. On paper, their team is a lot more skilled and experienced, especially in winning trophies, unlike Atalanta’s players. LFC should advance through to the semis with relative ease.

Benfica v Marseille

Benfica defeated Rangers in a very tight game, which ended in an away victory for the Portuguese club. The win was not easy by any means, but Benfica deservedly advanced. They are pursuing a treble of Liga Portugal, the Portuguese Cup, and the Europa League. Even though they lost the first leg game against Sporting 1 to 2, they may be able to advance to the final.

Marseille, on the other hand, has no other competition they have a chance at except the Europa League. They are out of the French Cup, and they certainly cannot win Ligue A as long as PSG has all the money in the world, so there is only the Europa League left. They won against Villarreal 4-0 in the first leg and almost lost the advantage when the score was 3-0 at some point. Still, they went through and are now facing Benfica.

Verdict: Benfica leads the 2024 Europa League quarter-finals odds at online sportsbooks in the UK to win over Marseille despite having more things to fight for.

 AC Milan v AS Roma

One of the best pairs in this year’s European competitions, Milan and Roma are having good seasons in domestic competitions and Europe. Milan took second place from Juventus last week, and Roma has bloomed after Jose Mourinho’s departure—the club went from 8th all the way to fight for next year’s Champions League spot.

Both Milan and Roma confidently defeated their opponents Slavia Prague and Brighton and Hove Albion. While Milan’s victory came as no surprise, Roma’s domination over Brighton was impressive – they won 4-0 in Rome and eased their way into the quarters. Both teams have no chance of winning any other trophy but the Europa League, so it surely will be a brutal couple of games.

Verdict: Milan will get through on penalties after challenging two games.

Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham United

Bayer’s games against Qarabag showed how persistent the German club is by claiming a draw in the last minutes of the first game and scoring two winning goals in the second to get through to the quarter-finals. Xabi Alonso’s team still remain undefeated in all competitions and is on the way to claiming a treble – Bundesliga, which is almost a certainty; German Cup, which should also be easy; and Europa League, where everyone predicts that they will face Liverpool in the final game.

West Ham’s European campaign is still going strong despite losing the first game against Freiburg. They turned the tables on them in the second and won 5-0. Moyes’s team is on the way to winning European trophies back-to-back, which, if it happens, surely will be the most outstanding achievement in West Ham’s history.

Verdict: Bayer most likely will advance through. No one will be surprised if it happens again in the last minute of the second game, as predicted by online gambling sites in the UK.
