The Boston Celtics will face the Golden State Warriors in the Finals for the first time since 1964. The Warriors were called the San Francisco Warriors back then, however. Boston went through some hard-fought battles this postseason to get here. Swept the Nets, took down the reigning champs in 7, and got the last laugh against the first seeded Miami Heat. No one can say the road was easy for the Celtics.
Golden State has some advantage because they won the Western Conference Finals a few days earlier. The Warriors will also have the home-court advantage so let’s see how these two giants match up against each other. These are our Game 1 predictions of the Warriors vs Celtics.
Game 1 is on June 2 so each side can get plenty of rest and practice. We have some good news for the Warriors fans. Payton II has been progressing well from his elbow injury and he’s expected to return for Game 1. Forwards Porter Jr. and Iguodala have also returned to practice and will most likely play during the Finals. As for the other side, there’s still no update on Hauser’s shoulder injury.
Poole and Wiggins have excelled this postseason and paired with Golden State’s veteran champion trio of Curry-Thompson-Green, the Warriors are looking dangerous. Wiggins will most likely defend Tatum in Game 1 so that’s one thing to watch out for. Additionally, Boston can play big ball and use size to their advantage. What’s our take on Game 1? The Warriors are winning vs the Celtics on Thursday.
