The neighboring countries of Belgium and the Netherlands are in the same group in the new Nations League season. And they will start the tournament against each other next Friday, on the 3rd of June at the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels. Belgium vs Netherlands betting tips favor the hosts to win the game, but the Oranje’s chances of winning are not bad either.

The Belgian team was leading the FIFA World Rankings for quite a long time but they were pushed to second place by Brazil. They qualified for the World Cup easily after winning their group. And will aim to get a similar result as four years ago when they finished in third place. First, Roberto Martinez’s team will play in the UEFA Nations League, where they were fourth in the previous edition. In the new season, Belgium will play in Group 4 of League A along with the Netherlands, Wales, and Poland. Doesn’t sound like an easy quartet. But a win in the first match against their big rivals can set them on the right path.  While the Dutch team will aim for another good result in the tournament where they finished as runner-ups in the first season.

Belgium vs Netherlands betting tips for the Low Countries derby

A match between the Low Countries, aka Belgium and the Netherlands is always a big derby. And hopefully, it will be an exciting game next Friday as well. The two teams have met 125 times so far, making this derby the third most often contested meeting. Their last friendly match ended with a 1-1 draw in 2018, while they met in a competitive match quite a long time ago. Back in the 1998 World Cup where they were drawn into the same group and played a 0-0 draw. Now Belgium is favored to win the match against their rivals and get all three points. At least according to Belgium vs Netherlands betting tips which offer the odds of 2.15 for their victory.

Roberto Martinez can rely on all top players in his squad from Kevin de Bruyne to Eden Hazard who finally recovered from his injury. The team’s top scorer with 68 goals, Romelu Lukaku has the smallest odds to score with the odds of 2.05. Followed by 22-year-old Vitesse forwards, Lois Opanda who can make his international debut. And Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi who spent this season on loan at Besiktas. Online sportsbooks in Belgium are optimistic about both teams scoring during the game and offer the odds of 1.72 for it.  There is a good chance of that if we consider the attacking players in both teams. Though the Dutch might prioritize defense based on Louis van Gaal’s philosophy.

Reemerging Dutch team

The Netherlands had a disappointing Euros last year after being knocked out in the last 16 by the Czech Republic. Their manager, Frank de Boer resigned which also meant the reappearance of their former leader, Louis van Gaal. Since then the team has shown some signs of getting better, after winning their World Cup qualifying group. In the previous Nations League edition the Oranje finished second in their group behind Italy. While they reached the final in the first season but lost there against Portugal.  Now they will meet their old rival in the group, making it a tough job again to finish on top.

Online gambling sites in Belgium offer the odds of 3.20 for their win in Brussels next week. Players like FC Barcelona forward Memphis Depay, the team captain, Virgil van Dijk, and Frenkie de Jong can help them to achieve it. Along with Feyenoord midfielder Guus Til who was close to winning the UEFA Europa Conference League with his team this week. And a surprise member of the squad, Vincent Janssen, who can play again in the team after a five-year break. According to bookmakers, Depay has the biggest chance of scoring during the match with the odds of 2.25. While Ajax striker Steven Berghuis and Spurs forward Steven Bergwijn follow him with the odds of 3.10.
