  • Grand Slam of Darts takes place 16-24 November in Coventry
  • 32 players compete, including two women players
  • Gerwyn Price is the defending champion and the biggest favorite
The 14th edition of the Grand Slam of Darts tournament is taking place between the 16th and 24th of November in Coventry, UK. World No3 Gerwyn Price is the defending champion and the biggest favorite in the 2020 Grand Slam of Darts winner odds too. But he will face his biggest rivals again including Michael van Gerwen and Peter Wright.  32 top players are taking part in the 2020 Grand Slam of Darts tournament. They will be divided first into 8 groups of four in the group stage. Then the first two players from each group will go through to the knockout stage and fight for a place in the final. Which will take place next Tuesday, on the 24th of November. In the participating players we can find winners and qualifiers of all major PDC events in the season. Including the European Tour and the PDC Pro Tour. The winners of the PDC Home Tour and the new women’s qualifier have been also invited. Along with the men’s and women’s BDO world champions. So the field of the tournament is really diverse, but in the biggest favorites we can find the usual names.

Gerwyn Price is favored for the trophy in the  2020 Grand Slam of Darts winner odds

Welsh world No3 Gerwyn Price can win the event for the third consecutive year after successfully defending his 2018 title last season. He won then against Peter Wright in the final, and both of them can easily feature at the end of the tournament again. Price has a great year so far after winning the World Grand Prix for the first time in his career. He also won the World Series of Darts Finals and most recently the World Cup of Darts as a member of the Welsh team. Price is in top form and has the smallest odds, 4.50 to win again by online sportsbooks in the UK.

Let's play!
His biggest rivals are the top two players in the world ranking, Peter Wright and Michael van Gerwen. Both of them have the odds of 5.00 in the 2020 Grand Slam of Darts winner odds. In spite of van Gerwen having difficulties after the restart of the sport. And winning only three Players Championship events but no major tournament. True though that he was featured in several finals and has won the Grand Slam of Darts three times already. While the current PDC world champion Wright has won the European Championship in October. He also reached the semi-finals at the World Series of Darts Finals and the Premier League Darts a few weeks ago. So he is in good form too and has a chance to win his first title of this tournament.

Other players who can cause surprise

Online gambling sites in the UK mention one of the greatest English talents of the sport, Nathan Aspinall in the favorites with the odds of 12.00. The 29-year-old is currently in 6th place at the world ranking after achieving some great results in the last few years. This season he got to the final of the Premier League Darts where he lost against Glen Durrant. He also won the PDC Home Tour, after most successfully adapting to new conditions. Aspinall hasn’t been able to get to the knockout stage yet in this tournament, but this time he should be able to do so. He will start against BDO champion Wayne Warren this afternoon. Fans of the sport can also see women players taking part in the event. 4-time women’s world champion Lisa Ashton will feature for the second time in a row. This year she became the first woman to win a PDC Tour Card.  As she finished 12th in the UK Q School Order of Merit. After losing all three games last year, Ashton hopes to improve on her record. Just like the other woman player, current world champion Mikuru Suzuki. She won’t have an easy job though starting against Price on Monday evening. Her odds to win the game is 11.00 on bet365.
