  • 2021 ATP Barcelona Open is held this week, 19-25 April
  • The ATP 500 event is played on clay court
  • Rafael Nadal has won it 11 times so far, he is the favorite to win it again

As the ATP Tour has moved to clay surfaces, we can expect great results from the king of clay, Rafael Nadal. The Spanish world No3 competes next in Barcelona along with other top players. He is the biggest favorite in the 2021 ATP Barcelona winner odds to get the victory at the tournament. Which takes place this week, between the 19th and 25th of April.

The Barcelona Open has been organized annually since 1953 at the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona. The ATP 500 event is held on clay courts attracting the biggest players every year. Like Rafael Nadal who has won the tournament a record 11 times so far. He will compete this year as well and is the biggest favorite to win it again.  But Nadal is not the defending champion after Austrian Dominic Thiem won the event last time, in 2019. We can’t find the world No4 in the field on this occasion unlike other top 10 players. Like Stefanos Tsitsipas and Andrey Rublev who are both in top form recently and can go all the way to the final easily.

It’s not a surprise that online sportsbooks in Spain favor Rafael Nadal to win the Barcelona Open again with the odds of 1.645. As we mentioned he is the record-holder of the event with 11 wins so far and the top seed of the tournament. This year though he hasn’t reached his best form yet. As he was defeated by Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quartet-finals of the 2021 Australian Open. While Nadal also lost in the quarter-finals of the Monte Carlo Masters against Andrey Rublev. Both of them compete in Barcelona too, so the Spanish star can take revenge on them.

But winning against Stefanos Tsitsipas won’t be an easy job for anyone. As the Greek player is in superb form and still in fifth place in the world ranking. He won the Monte Carlo Masters, his first Masters 1000 title after defeating Rublev in the final last weekend.  Now Tsitsipas will aim to continue his winning streak in Barcelona where he reached the final on his first appearance in 2018. He has the odds of 7.20 in the 2021 ATP Barcelona winner odds and a real chance following his previous great results on clay.

Rublev, Schawartzmann and Agut in other favorites

Andrey Rublev has already won the ATP Cup with the Russian team and the Rotterdam Open this year. Beside reaching the final of the Monte Carlo Masters and the semi-final of the Miami Open. With his latest performance he reached a career-high seventh place in the world ranking, overtaking Roger Federer. Now the young Russian player is likely to start the tournament against French Benoit Paire in the second round. Rublev can meet Tsitsipas in the semi-final if both of them get there. He has the same odds as his Greek rival, 7.20 to win the event on Sunday.

Online gambling sites in Spain offer the odds of 22.00 for another Spanish player, Roberto Bautista-Agut’s victory. The experienced player is in good form too after reaching the finals in Montpellier and Doha. In 2015 Bautista reached the quarter-finals here but lost against Kei Nishikori. Now he will aim for a better result in a tournament which he often visited as a child. While Diego Schwartzman is also mentioned in the favorites with the odds of 17.00 on 22Bet.  The world No9 won his first tournament since 2019, the Argentina Open this March. Now he is hoping for a similar result on another clay court as the fourth seed of the tournament.
