  • 2021 ATP Italian Open is held this week, 9-16th May in Rome
  • All top players will take part in the event except Roger Federer
  • Djokovic is the defending champion, still Rafael Nadal is the top favorite

Both Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic will play this week at the Italian Open along with other top 10 players. The Spanish star arrives in Rome following his early exit from Madrid and will aim for his 10th victory here. But he won’t have an easy job in the packed field including Djokovic, Zverev and Medvedev. Who are all mentioned in the favorites of the 2021 ATP Rome winner odds.

Like in Madrid last week, now the best men and women tennis players will gather in Rome to play at the 2021 Italian Open. The event starts this week, with both finals being held this Sunday, on the 16th of May. The ATP 1000 event has attracted most top men’s tennis players in the world, only Roger Federer is missing from the top 10. Novak Djokovic is the defending champion but Rafael Nadal is the record holder with nine wins so far. Both of them will aim for another victory on the clay court, which is a great rehearsal ahead of the 2021 French Open. But the two stars have to be careful with other top-form players too. Like Zverev and Tsitsipas, the recent winners of the Madrid and Monte-Carlo Opens.

2021 ATP Rome winner odds predict Nadal’s victory

Rafael Nadal has an outstanding result list from the Italian Open with his nine wins and two runner-up finishes. This time he will go for his 10th victory to reach double digits in his fourth tournament. He is still only the second seed of the open behind world No1 Novak Djokovic. Probably as the Spanish star’s recent results haven’t been that great. As he was knocked out in the quarter-finals at both the Monte-Carlo and Madrid Open. Nadal did win the Barcelona Open though. He is still favored by online sportsbooks in Italy to win now with the odds of 2.388.

Like usually, Novak Djokovic can be his biggest rival who has the odds of 4.00 in the 2021 ATP Rome winner odds. The Serbian world No1 won the last event here defeating Diego Schwartzman in the final. It was his fifth victory in Rome and a record 36th Masters 1000 trophy. Djokovic hasn’t played much since his victory in the 2021 Australian Open. And he wasn’t convincing either. As at the Serbia Open he suffered a surprise defeat from Russian Aslan Karatsev in the semi-finals. While he was knocked out even earlier in the Monte-Carlo Open by Dan Evans. Djokovic can meet the British player again in the second round and take revenge for his defeat.

Zverev, Tsitsipas, Thiem or someone else?

But the winner of this tournament can be a third player easily in the strong field. Alexander Zverev arrives as the winner of the 2021 Madrid Open after defeating Nadal, Dominic Thiem and Matteo Berrettini on his route. Now the German world No6 can meet his Spanish rival again in the quarter-final if both of them get there. While the winner of the 2021 Monte-Carlo Masters, Stefanos Tsitsipas can play against Novak Djokovic in another quarter-final. The Greek player won his first Masters 1000 event in Monaco and has the odds of 7.00 to get his second victory.

Online gambling sites in Italy also mention Austrian Dominic Thiem in the top favorites with the odds of 8.00. He also played well in Madrid and reached the semi-finals last week. Thiem is also a two-time Roland Garros runner-up who has a great chance of winning here. The world No4 will play against Hungarian Marton Fucsovics in the second round. The Russian trio of Medvedev, Rublev and Karatsev also take part in the open. From them Rublev has the smallest odds with 16.00 to win his first Masters 1000 tournament. The world No7 is having a great season so far and playing well on clay too after reaching the final of the Monte-Carlo Open.
