The number one single in the UK Singles Chart at Christmas has been in the focus of the public since 1952. When the first winner, Al Martino was announced with Here In My Heart. Since then all kinds of songs claimed the top spot from novelty songs to real Christmas ballads. Last year LadBaby joined The Beatles and the Spice Girls after winning the contest for the third consecutive year. Amazing performance from the novelty act which consists of a graphic designer and lifestyle blogger, Mark Ian Hoyle, and his wife, Roxanne Zee Hoyle. They are in the favorites again but might face stronger competition from top singers this year.

2021 Christmas No1 Single Odds Favor Adele Ahead of LadBaby

The top favorite of online sportsbooks in the UK in their 2021 Christmas No1 single odds is Adele. The multiple Grammy Award winner singer returns back with her new album, 30 this November, and with possible new chart-topping songs. The first one called “Easy On Me” was already released last week. It has already reached number one on the singles charts in Australia, Germany, and Lithuania. Shockingly Adele hasn’t had any Christmas No1 single yet, but it can all change now. We should expect new songs until Christmas by the UK’s best-selling female album artist. Her odds to get the No1 spot are 3.00.

We also have to mention in the main favorites the winner of the last three years, LadBaby who can try to have another No1 single this year.  They topped the Christmas charts with their novelty songs, “We Built This City”, “I Love Sausage Rolls” and “Don’t Stop Me Eatin”. The latter was a charity single with all proceeds going to The Trussell Trust. The pair was also nominated for the Pride of Britain Award after raising £1,2 million with their song. It is still a question if they’ll cover a new song this Christmas. But if they do, it will surely fight for the No1 spot again with the odds of 4.00 to win again.

ABBA, Elton John, and Ed Sheeran Can Also Top The Chart At Christmas

One of the big announcements of the year was the return of ABBA, the Swedish pop group from the 1960s, the 70s. They will release a new album called ABBA Voyage this November, which is their first album in 40 years. The first song called “I Still Have Faith In You” peaked in 14th place in the UK chart. But another song might get a better result. Though it would be a small miracle to have a No1 Christmas song now, and not at the peak of their careers. Still online gambling sites in the UK offer the odds of 6.50 for that to happen.

Probably Ed Sheeran has a much better chance of winning even though his odds, 10.00 are worse than ABBA’s. One of the world’s best-selling music artists has already got a No1 Christmas single in 2017.  Then he topped the charts with “Perfect”. The 30-year-old singer will also release a new album soon. With the first song, “Bad Habits” being his 10th UK number one single. But that’s not all as the second song from the album, “Shivers” has also topped the charts. It might not stay there until Christmas but a third song can achieve similar success. According to the latest news, Sheeran will also release a Christmas song with Elton John, which can be a perfect contender to top the charts. With the odds of 8.00 to do so.
