The 2021 Waste Management Phoenix Open will take place this week, between the 4th and 7th of February in Scottsdale, Arizona. Part of the 2020-21 PGA Tour, several top players will take part in it. Like Joh Rahm, Justin Thomas and Rory McIlroy who all belong to the top favorites in the 2021 Phoenix Open winner odds.  The first Waste Management Phoenix Open was held in 1932 and has been held in Scottsdale since 1987. The People’s Open is one of the most popular tournaments due to its special atmosphere. As in normal conditions the Stadium Course at Scottsdale can attract a huge crowd, around half a million people across the four days. Of course, this year will be different and only 5000 spectators will be allowed to watch the event. Still, surely it will be a great experience for all participating players. In the previous winners of the tournament we can find Phil Mickelson who has won the event three times. While in this year’s open five top 10 players will take part including world No2 Jon Rahm and world No3 Justin Thomas.

2021 Phoenix Open winner odds predict Rahm’s victory

Joh Rahm topped the world ranking last year after winning the 2020 Memorial Tournament, which was his 4th PGA Tour win. Even though his reign only lasted two weeks, he was still playing well after and won the BMW Championship. Since then though Rahm hasn’t achieved similar results, he had three T7 finishes in his previous races. But he is usually performing well in Phoenix, with three earlier top 10 finishes. The Spanish player is the top  favorite in the 2021 Phoenix Open winner odds with +650.  Online sportsbooks in the US also offer low odds, +900 for the victory of Justin Thomas. The American former world No1 won two PGA Tour events last year and finished 4th in the 2020 Masters. He is showing a better form each week in the new season after a 3rd and T2 finishes in Hawaii and at the Zozo Championship at Sherwood. Thomas finished third in the last two tournaments here but can get an even better result now.

McIlroy and last year’s winner are also in the favorites

Rory McIlroy will make his tournament debut this year, he can still perform well according to his odds, +1200. The British golfer is currently in 6th place in the world ranking even though he was leading it in the beginning of 2020. He fell back though after not getting any top finishes in his last few competitions. His best result has been a T5 finish in the 2020 Masters, but McIlroy needs to improve on his game to get another victory. Xander Schauffale is also mentioned in the favorites by online gambling sites in the US. The 27-year-old American is world No4 at the moment after his great results. He finished 5th in the 2020 US Open and as a runner-up in the CJ Cup at Shadow Creek. Schauffale also started the year strongly with a T5 and T2 finishes in Hawaii and California. Now he has the odds of +1100 on BetOnline to get his 5th PGA Tour wins. While last year’s winner, Webb Simpson will try to defend his title with the odds of +1600 to do so. The 2012 US Open winner returned to the top 10 with his victory last season. It is one of his favorite venues so he can have another great performance now.
