This will be the 30th edition of the ATP 250 tournament in Qatar, held at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha. The event is loved by the players as they selected it as the ATP 250 tournament of the year on four occasions. So it’s not surprising that we can find the biggest players in its former champions. From Novak Djokovic to Rafael Nadal who won the event five times with getting four doubles and one singles victory. Last year Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili won the tournament with a superb performance. He defeated Roger Federer in the quarter-finals and Roberto Bautista Agut in the final to win his fourth ATP singles title. Basilashvili will try to defend his title this year but it won’t be an easy job in this strong field.

Shapovalov Leads In 2022 ATP Doha Winner Odds

Denis Shapovalov is the top seed of this year’s tournament, online sportsbooks in Canada expect his victory too. They offer the world No12 the odds of 4.33 to get his second ATP singles title. The young Canadian won his first title at the 2019 Stockholm Open while he also reached his first Masters final in that year. Shapovalov continued to get better each year. He got to the semi-final of last year’s Wimbledon where Djokovic finally stopped him. He reached the quarter-final of 2022 Australian Open and won the ATP Cup as a member of the Canadian team. The 22-year-old can continue his great run in Qatar now on his second appearance at the event.

Last year’s finalist, Roberto Bautista Agut can be one of his main rivals for the trophy. He also won here in 2019 making the Qatar Open one of his strongest tournaments. Bautista Agut can also take revenge on Shapovalov if they meet again. As the Canadian knocked him out in last year’s Wimbledon. While the Spanish player was beaten by another Canadian, Felix Auger-Aliassime in the ATP Cup final this January. In the Australian Open, Bautista Agut got to the third round but can go further here. The world No17 has the odds of 7.00 to claim victory in the 2022 ATP Doha winner odds. First, though he needs to beat the winner of the Taro Daniel vs Andy Murray match where the 3-time Grand Slam winner British is the favorite.

Cilic, Evans, and Khachanov in Other Top Favorites

Marin Cilic is seeded fourth in the open and has the odds of 7.00 to win it. The Croatian player started well this season after reaching the semi-finals at two separate tournaments in Adelaide. He recorded his 550th win there and became only the 7th active player to reach this level. While he got to the fourth round in the 2022 Australian Open after defeating Andrey Rublev on his route. The 2014 US Open winner will start in the round of 16 and can meet another favorite, Karen Khachanov in the quarter-final.

Online gambling sites in Canada offer the odds of 10.00 for the Russian player’s victory. The 25-year-old had a great last season after reaching his first Wimbledon quarter-final and winning the silver medal in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Khachanov also played in Adelaide and reached the final in the first open. But eventually, he lost there against Gael Monfils. The 6th seed will start against American Mackenzie McDonald and is favored to go through. British Dan Evans will arrive in good form after winning his matches in the ATP Cup. While he also reached the semi-final at the 2022 Sydney International. Andy Murray also played in Sydney and was featured in his first ATP final since 2019.  The three-time Grand Slam winner might be on his way to return to his best. The British players odds to win in Doha now are 10.00 and 13.00 on bet365.
