This will be the 48th edition of the Vienna Open, an ATP 500 tournament on indoor hard courts. It is one of the last events of the season ahead of the ATP Finals, so lots of top players will take part in it. From the former world No1 Daniil Medvedev to Monte-Carlo Masters winner Stefanos Tsitsipas. But top-form players like Taylor Fritz and Italian Matteo Berrettini can also reach the final. Just like the 2020 tournament winner Andrey Rublev or the 2019 champion Dominic Thiem. Last year’s winner, Alexander Zverev won’t compete this time, but surely fans can see some great matches this week.

The 2022 ATP Vienna Winner Odds Favor Medvedev Ahead of Tsitsipas and Rublev

Daniil Medvedev will make his first appearance after an injury forced him to withdraw from the Astana Open three weeks ago. He is currently in fourth place in the world ranking and the top seed in this tournament. The Russian player won the Los Cabos Open in Mexico and got to the semi-final in the Cincinnati Masters. But he was knocked out in the first round at the US Open by Nick Kyrgios. So, Medvedev has had a very mixed season so far. Online sportsbooks in Austria still favor him winning in Vienna. His odds to get his 15th title are 3.74.  Another top candidate for the victory is Stefanos Tsitsipas who has an odds of 6.15 in 2022 ATP Vienna winner odds. The world No5 finished as a runner-up in Astana, and in the Cincinnati Masters. Just like in Stockholm last week where he was surprisingly beaten by Danish Holger Rune in the final.  But as his recent results show, the Greek is in great form and can easily reach the final again.  Just like the third seed of the event, Andrey Rublev. He also got to the semi-final in Astana but lost there against Tsitsipas. Rublev won though in Gijon two weeks ago which was his fourth title in the season. He will start against a tough opponent, Diego Schwartzman in the first round. While he can meet Medvedev in the semi-final. Rublev’s odds to beat everyone are 7.10.

Thiem’s and Other Top Players’ Chances

Dominic Thiem won this tournament in 2019 and can play well on home soil again. The former world No3 had to miss most of the previous year due to a wrist injury. He returned this March but only got back to form in the summer. The Austrian reached the semi-finals in Gijon and in Belgium this month. But Thiem is still only in 132nd place in the world rankings. A win now could give him another push to get back to the top. Online gambling sites in Austria offer an odds of 22.00 for his win. But even his first match won’t be easy after he meets the world No28 Taylor Fritz.  The American is the fourth seed of the tournament with an odds of 14.50 to win it. Fritz won his first Masters title in Indian Wells this year. And he also won in Japan two weeks ago. Italian Matteo Berrettini was also close to winning last week in Naples. But he lost eventually against his compatriot, Lorenzo Musetti. The 26-year-old player has already won two events this season and reached the semi-final in the Australian Open. His odds to win now are 11.50. Even smaller odds are offered for the victory of his compatriot, Jannik Sinner on 22Bet. The world No12 got to the quarterfinals in all Grand Slams this year. And won his sixth title in Sofia. He will start against the Chilean Cristian Garin and can meet Medvedev in the quarter final.
