  • First legs of EHF Women's Champions League quarter-finals are held this weekend
  • Vipers will visit Krim, Brest hosts Gyori Audi ETO
  • CSM Bucuresti will meet Team Esbjerg for the third time this season

The 2021/22 EHF Women’s Champions League season continues this weekend with the first legs of the quarter-finals. The 2022 EHF Women’s Champions League QF predictions favor Gyori Audi ETO and Vipers Kristiansand to win away against Brest Bretagne and RK Krim Mercator. While CSM Bucuresti can get the win at home against Team Esbjerg.

The EHF Women’s Champions League will reach the quarter-final stage this weekend, with six teams still fighting for a place in the final four. French side Metz Handball is already in the final after its opponent, Russian Rostov-Don has been excluded from the tournament. But handball fans can still see some great matches in the quarter-finals with the defending champions, Vipers Kristiansand, and the five-time winners, Gyori Audi Eto also in action. Both clubs are favored to win their ties and even get the win in the first leg. A tighter match is expected in the third tie between the Romanian side CSM Bucuresti and the Danish club Team Esbjerg. The two teams will meet for the third time this season following their encounters at the group stage. Then Esbjerg won the first match while the second ended with a draw.

2022 EHF Women’s Champions League QF Predictions Favor Former Champions

Vipers Kristiansand will visit the home of Slovenian Krim Mercator this Sunday. With online sportsbooks in Norway favoring their team to get the win. Vipers only finished second behind Gyori Audi ETO in the group stage where they’ve already met Krim twice before. The Norwegian club won both games and has the odds of 1.84 to do it again. Players like Nerea Pena, Nora Mork, and Marta Tomac have the experience and quality to lead the team to victory. While Slovenian fans will hope that the team’s new signing, Ana Gros can increase their chances of winning. The odds for a home win are 2.565.

The 2022 EHF Women’s Champions League QF predictions also favor another former champion, Gyori Audi ETO to get the win away. The Hungarian club will play against Brest Bretagne on Saturday with the odds of 1.58 for the victory. Ambros Martin’s team can take revenge on the French side after Brest beat them in last year’s semi-final. ETO only lost one game the whole season and won their group confidently. Meanwhile, Brest finished only fourth in the group. They had to play against the other Hungarian team, FTC-Rail Cargo in the playoff which they won 55-52 on aggregate. Brest’s odds to win the first match now are 3.24 on 22Bet.

Tight Match is Expected Between CSM and Esbjerg

CSM Bucuresti won the EHF Champions League title in their maiden season, in 2016 but the club hasn’t reached the final four since 2018. They have a big chance of getting there this season thanks to their great players. Including the top goalscorer of the tournament, Cristina Neagu, who has scored an unbelievable 94 goals so far.

Or five-time Champions League winner Brazilian Eduarda Amorim who joined the Romanian side from Rostov-Don in April. CSM finished fifth in the group and would have met CSKA Moscow in the playoff. But they automatically won the tie for the obvious reasons.

Now they will face an even tougher opponent in Team Esbjerg. The Danish side won its group and also defeated Bucuresti at home by a single goal last autumn. But they only draw in Romania in their second meeting which can be a good sign for the home fans. Online gambling sites in Norway offer the smaller odds, 1.92 for the home win. But the odds for Esbjerg’s win are very close with 2.43. Norwegian Henny Reistad has scored 77 goals so far this season and played a big role in the team’s success. But her compatriot, Marit Rosberg Jacobsen is also key in offense. The guests can reach the final four for the first time in the club’s history so surely they will be extra motivated on both matches.
