  • The 2022 Emmy Awards is held on the 12th of September
  • Nominees in all categories are announced on the 12th of July
  • Ted Lasso, Succession, Squid Game, and Dopesick belong to the main favorites

The 2022 Emmy Awards is held on the 12th of September but the nominees in all categories will be announced soon, on the 12th of July. The 2022 Emmy Awards Outstanding series odds favor former winners, Ted Lasso in the comedy and Succession in the drama category. While the American drama series about opioid addiction, Dopesick is the top favorite in the Outstanding Limited Series category.

The 74th Emmy Awards will honor the best American prime-time television programming in 27 categories. Awarding the best series, actors, supporting actors, writers and directors, and other special programs. The Primetime Emmy Awards are different from the Daytime Emmy Awards, which were held last week at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in California. A medical-themed series, General Hospital won the drama category there.

And a series based on a similar theme can win the Outstanding Limited Series Primetime Emmy as well. In the Outstanding Comedy Series, last year’s winner, Ted Lasso is the top favorite again. While another former winner, Succession is among the favorites in the Drama Series category. All the nominees will be announced in two weeks’ time, on the 12th of July so it’s time to check all the main favorites.

2022 Emmy Awards Outstanding Series Odds for Drama and Comedy Categories

In the Outstanding Drama Series category, the 2020 winner, Succession can win again with its third season. The black-comedy drama about the media tycoon Roy family has been nominated for both previous seasons. Now online gambling sites in Canada offer the smallest odds, 1.57 for its victory. But it can have a huge rival in Netflix’s top series, Squid Game which has become a huge success all over the world.

The South Korean production can become the first non-English-language show to be nominated for the awards. With the odds of 2.75 to win it. Other Netflix series like Ozark and Stranger Things should also be in the eight nominees. Just like Better Call Saul and This is Us, both in their final seasons.

Last year’s winner of the Outstanding Comedy Series category, Ted Lasso is the main favorite for the award according to the 2022 Emmy Awards Outstanding series odds. Apple + sports comedy-drama has the odds of 1.70 to win again. But there are other major candidates for the awards. Like black comedy series Barry which has been nominated twice before. And the HBO series, Hacks in which a young comedy writer and an experienced stand-up comedienne go on a road trip. It has the odds of 5.00 of winning the award.

The feel-good series about Philadelphia teachers, Abbott Elementary follows in the list of the favorites. Just like Hulu’s production, the Only Murders in the Building. Which feature such legends as its main characters as Steve Martin and Martin Sheen. Its victory only has the odds of 10.00 at the moment.

Favorites for the Outstanding Limited Series

The Outstanding Limited Series category honors series that have at least two episodes and a minimum of 150 minutes running time. The series must tell a complete story without any subsequent seasons. The Queen’s Gambit from Netflix won the award last year. But in the previous winners we can also find HBO hit Chernobyl. And FX’s drama series, The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.

This year there isn’t such a buzz about the possible winners as in the previous years. But we can still find great series with interesting real-life stories like Inventing Anna or The Dropout. Both tell the stories of disgraced women, fake heiress Anna Delvey, and disgraced biotechnology company founder Elizabeth Holmes.

But online sportsbooks in Canada offer the smallest odds, 1.50 for the victory of the Hulu miniseries Dopesick, which focuses on the opioid crisis in America. The series was created by Emmy-winner writer and producer Danny Strong. And it features Michael Keaton as its lead actor. A big challenger can be a lighter satirical dramedy, The White Lotus which is about the guests and the staff of a Hawaii resort.

The HBO hit also includes a star cast with Murray Bartlett, Jennifer Coolidge, and Connie Britton. It has the odds of 2.75 to winning the Emmy. Another HBO production based on the documentary with the same name, The Staircase can be a surprise winner. With Colin Firth and Toni Collette starring, the HBO drama was a hit with the viewers. And has the odds of 10.00 to collect the award.
