With the Premier League set to commence, Aston Villa boast an interesting squad to clinch a higher place finish than last season.
The 2013-14 Premier League season saw Aston Villa clinch a low 15th position. In hopes to raise the bar next year, the club has acquires the services of some interesting players. Defender Aly Cissokho was brought in from Valencia to help improve the back line, while midfielder Kieran Richardson was transferred from Fulham.
In addition, the Lions also signed defender Philippe Senderos and the once prominent midfielder Joe Cole on a free transfer. These players should see them elevate to a higher position on the Premier League. With the guidance of their manager Paul Lambert the new players should be well accommodated into the team.
The Lions are not likely to be relegated
Mobile betting firm Bet365 offers odds of 1.18 (2/11) that Aston Villa will once again finish on the bottom half of the table. However, according to the sportsbook it is unlikely that they will be relegated to the Football League Championship, as their odds for relegation are 4.00 (3/1).
