Director of Paddy Power Joins Senet Group Board

Catherine Colloms from Paddy Power and Donald McCabe from Ladbrokes were appointed as Industry Directors for Senet Group.

The Board of gambling watchdog, Senet Group was strengthened with two new industry directors, both from significant brands. Catherine Colloms is the Director of Corporate Affairs at Paddy Power, and Donald McCabe is the Group Corporate Communication Director of Ladbrokes. They take over the chairs from Fiona Thorne of Coral and David Steele of William Hill whose one-year appointment has expired.

“It is really valuable to have the support of big gambling companies in our endeavour,” said Wanda Goldwag, an Independent Standards Commissioner who chairs the Senet Group Board. The independent overseeing body’s mission is to reduce gambling-related harm. It was established in 2014 by three leading gambling companies: William Hill, Ladbrokes, Coral and Paddy Power.

All gambling operators are welcome to join the Senet Group. Their members commit to:

  • a voluntary TV advertising ban on sign-up offers (free bets and free money) 
  • before 9pm
    refrain from advertising gaming
    machines in betting shop windows 
  • dedicate 20% of shop window advertising to responsible gambling messages
