Sports-wise, there’s a lot going on in 2022. We can look forward to plenty of great opportunities to take advantage of UK gambling laws at Bet365. Rugby in particular is going to offer up a string of highlights to wager on. The first of these, is, of course, a bet on the Six Nations. Wales are back to defend their title, but with England showing promise and Ireland on form, can they? Or should we all just back the French to turn up and run away with it and win a Grand Slam?

Naturally, quite a fair few rugby fans will have their eyes on the Women’s game this year. There’s the World Cup, World Sevens Series and the Commonwealth Games to feast upon. However, that doesn’t mean the men’s game is laying fallow in 2022. Indeed, with the kick off only a month away it’s time to bet on the Six Nations again. Can the Welsh defend their title? Will the Irish have any more luck? Or will this descend into an England-France showdown?

That is sort of what everyone expected last time. Didn’t happen. Wales flew into the lead and, thanks to that last moment Scots try, took the title. Will they do so again? They just might. That’s why most people who bet on sports in the UK, and indeed bet on rugby in particular, think 2022 is going to go right to the wire. So this is the prime time to bet on the Six Nations, unless you were planning to hit up online sportsbooks sites in the UK like Bet365 to back the Italians.

Pundits Bet On The Six Nations Thrilling Again

To waste your bet on the Six Nations by putting a bet on Italy is possibly a sign of madness. Even if you’re Italian. Bet365 gives them 1000/1 chance of winning the title and, quite honestly, that’s generous. It would take a miracle. They didn’t win a single match in 2021. They probably won’t in 2022 either. Their participation is strictly aspirational. However, it does make organizing the contest into even rounds simple. But if we discount the odds on Italy, who ought we back?

“Arrogance is only bad when you lose. If you are winning it is self-belief.”

  • Eddie Jones – England Coach

Should we bet on Ireland or Scotland? They did better than expected last time round and could well build on their success. Despite their pivotal role in the Welsh victory last time you can find 10/1 for a bet on Scotland at Bet365 right now. That’s not bad, and neither are the odds on Ireland. You can easily get 4/1 if you hunt around the various online betting sites in the UK. That’s tempting. If only because the odds on Wales are just not what you’d expect of champions.

French 7/2 At Bet365 To Win A Grand Slam

Online bookies in the UK like Bet365 are offering just 6/1 on Wales defending their title. That seems a tad harsh, but it’s understandable. They can’t expect another collapse in performance from England or the French to be that unlucky twice. Still, a bet on Wales might not prove a ghastly idea. Certainly after last year a bet on England isn’t any more attractive. You might find shorter odds on England, but as a bet on the Six Nations they’re still trumped by the French.

Six Nations Betting Odds

  • Italy – 1000/1
  • Scotland – 10/1
  • Wales – 6/1
  • Ireland – 4/1
  • England – 5/2
  • France – 6/4

The odds on France hover around 6/4 whilst England’s odds on the Six Nations are a touch further out at 5/2. Now obviously most people who like to bet on sports in the UK will bet on England out of the two. But can you really turn down a bet on France when it will take a disaster to see them lose? They might even get a Grand Slam (by winning all five matches) something you may want to consider if you’re placing a bet on the Six Nations. They’re getting 7/2 to do it.
