Both the Champions League and the Europa League spoiled us with some thrilling midweek action, but now it’s time to turn our attention back to the domestic leagues. Four of the continent’s biggest leagues are set to showcase a number of high-profile encounters that include games from the Premier League, La Liga, Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga. Find out about our selection of games below.

Liverpool v Chelsea – H 8/7 (2.14) D 13/5 (3.60) A 5/2 (3.50)

After 12 rounds in the English top flight, Manchester City are flying high at the top of the table with an impressive 34 points, after clinching 11 victories and recording only a single draw. Premier League’s defending champions Chelsea are trailing behind in 3rd spot (25 points), while Liverpool are even further down the table in 5th position (22 points).

For this weekend’s big clash at Anfield, Jurgen Klopp’s men will be looking to utilize home support as they take on last season’s champions. Liverpool’s record at home stands at 4 wins and 2 draws, which stands in stark comparison to Chelsea away record of 5 wins and 1 defeat. It’s hard to predict which side will claim 3 points from this match-up, but it’s been well documented The Reds have blundered on occasion this season. The Blues on the hand are enjoying superb form as of late that could see them maximize on that momentum in this weekend’s game.

That’s why we’d place our bets on Antonio Conte’s men to continue their good run away from the Stamford Bridge when they take on Liverpool at Anfield, especially after their impressive 4-0 victory against Qarabag in the Champions League last week.

Dortmund v Schalke – H 5/7 (1.72) D 16/5 (4.20) A 10/3 (4.33)

Bavarian powerhouse Bayern Munich are still top of Bundesliga and they’re the obvious favourites to clinch the league title yet again, despite witnessing a chance in management recently. But the two other big names in German football – Dortmund and Schalke – will go head to head in a game that is of vital importance to each of them.

The Gelsenkirchen side are second on the table, trailing 6 points behind Bayern, however the once revered Dortmund find themselves in 5th position after 12 rounds in Bundesliga. Schalke maintain a solid home record of 4 victories, 2 draws and merely 1 loss – a 3-0 defeat suffered at the hands of none other than Bayern.

This season, the Black and Yellows have experienced a dire run while playing away from the Westfalenstadion that has seen them clinch only 3 wins with the other games ending in 2 draws and 2 losses. Based on this, we’re placing our wagers on Schalke to claim the all-important 2 points from this “Ruhr derby” (Rivierderby).

Valencia v Barcelona – H 3/1 (4.00) D 26/9 (3.89) A 6/7 (1.85)

Barcelona have missed out on the league title last season as well as the Champions League trophy, as their main rivals Real Madrid swooped both of those crowns. The Catalans ended their season by clinching the only remaining “big title” - Copa del Rey.

But this season’s results indicate that they’ve managed to turn things around in their favour yet again; after 12 rounds in Lal Liga, Barcelona have won all but one match that ended in a draw. And surprisingly, this weekend’s opponents Valencia are right behind them in second – merely 4 points behind. Online betting sites in Spain have boosted their odds for their upcoming game, but we’re doubtful they’ll have the capacity to mount a serious attack.

The Bats will be playing in front of their home crowd against the Catalan side, but we doubt that will be enough to repel the likes of Messi, Suarez and others. The most that Valencia can hope for is a draw in this game, which is why we would advise playing a mixed bet of a draw/win in favour of the visitors for this highly-anticipated encounter.

Monaco v PSG – H 17/4 (5.25) D 15/4 (4.75) A 6/11 (1.53)

And the last match that we’ll cover is also one of the most exciting ones on our list, which is why we left it for last. It’s “old money” vs “new money” in Ligue 1 this Sunday as Monaco will take on the mighty PSG. The Principality side have to give it their all if they want to catch up with the club from the capital, as there’s a 6-point difference between the two sides at the very top of the league.

PSG have sealed 11 victories from 13 encounters so far this campaign, but the good news for Monaco is that PSG have suffered both of their draws while playing away from Parc de Princes. Online sportsbooks in France highly favour PSG to clinch a victory from this super rich clash, and rightfully so at first thought. But Monaco is the only side in French football that can usurp PSG’s ambitions at this moment, which is why the game could very easily go either way. For this reason, we’re going to place a bet on a tie with goals for this mouth-watering fixture.
