After Jurgen Klinsmann suddenly resigned from the manager position at Hertha after only 10 weeks of his appointment, the search has started again to find a new manager. The German team has been struggling this season and only 13th in the Bundesliga. Former Bayern manager is the favorite in the Hertha Berlin next manager odds to take over the team.

Hertha Berlin is one of the oldest German teams. It was founded in 1892. They won the German Championship a long time ago, in 1930 and 1931. Since then their greatest result was a second-place finish in the 1974-75 season and reaching the semi-final in the 1978-79 UEFA Cup. They spent several years in the second tier, most recently in the 2012-13 season. Since then they rejoined the top league, though still struggling sometimes to stay in.

In the Hertha Berlin next manager odds familiar names are the favorites

This season the team started under the management of Ante Covic who was sacked in November 2019 after the team’s poor performance. They won only 3 games out of 12, and were only 15th in the Bundesliga, so Covic had to go. In a surprising move former world champion Jurgen Klinsmann was appointed as the new head coach. Klinsmann didn’t have too many great experiences as a coach in Germany after lasting only one season at Bayern Munich. And now his return wasn’t a success either, as Hertha didn’t improve too much under his lead.  He resigned from his post this February.

Now according to online sportsbooks in Germany, Niko Kovac is the favorite to get the job. His odds are 2.00 on Unibet. Kovac was the manager of Bayern Munich in the last two seasons, but left the club by mutual agreement last November. Even though the club won the league and the German cup in the last season, their performance wasn’t that great this year, which led to his leave. But he might be able to help Hertha now and give them new motivation.

Other candidates to get the job

Online gambling sites in Germany are also mentioning former captain and manager of the team, Pal Dardai with the odds of 4.00 at Unibet Sportsbook. Dardai is a true legend at the club after 297 league appearances, he is still the longest serving player of Hertha. He became the manager of the team in 2015 and was there until the end of the 2019 season. Until his management the team reached great results, like finishing seventh and sixth places in the Bundesliga. It also meant the club could play in international cups, though they couldn’t qualify from the group stage.

Bruno Labbadia also has a great chance in the Hertha Berlin next manager odds, with 3.00 at Unibet Sportsbook. Labbadia worked for several top German clubs from Bayer Leverkusen to VfB Stuttgart.  Most recently he was the manager of Wolfsburg which finished in the excellent 6th place last season. The 54-year old coach has experience with clubs fighting relegation and might be the best option for the Berliners right now.
